Cheats (チート Chīto), also known as Divine Treasures, Sacred Treasures or Divine Items, are items and abilities granted by Aqua to the reincarnated Japanese in order to help them slay the Devil King.
Overview[]
Ever since the Parallel World came under the threat of the Devil King, the Gods decided to bring deceased people from other worlds, and during the process granted them a powerful weapon or a special power to help them defeat the Devil King.[1]
Those powers and weapons, however, aren't invincible. In order to use a weapon to its fullest extent, the user must have it in his/her hands, while the powers always have some kind of drawback[2] and usually consumes too much mana.[3]
Divine Treasure[]
The items, named Divine Treasures (神器 Jingi), are for the reincarnated Japanese's use alone, and won't be able to unleash their full power in the hands of someone they didn't choose, for example Gram becomes a regular heavy and unwieldy sword when held by anyone who isn't Mitsurugi.[4]
However, some of those items can still be troublesome even without their full power, and it is Eris' job to retrieve and seal such items that got scattered all over the Parallel World after their owners passed away.[5]
