Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Wiki

Chomusuke (ちょむすけ) is Megumin's familiar and the other half of the Dark God Wolbach.

Chomusuke is a black cat with a red cross-shaped marking on her forehead and bat like wings. She has stubby legs, a big round head, and yellow oval eyes. When she's happy or angry, she shows sharp teeth.

Chomusuke cannot speak human language, but she seems to be fairly intelligent and can understand human speech to some extent. One time, Kazuma saw her heating up leftover fish with fire breath.[1] After losing her powers, Chomusuke lost all her aggressiveness, becoming target of bullying from Axel kids and Emperor Zell.

As the Goddess of Sloth and Violence, Chomusuke seems attracted by those traits, since she enjoys Kazuma's laziness[2] and Megumin's aggressiveness. Chomusuke also likes Wiz, who treated her with extra kindness. However she doesn't like Arnes, as the demon tried to take her away from Megumin; and Aqua, since the later is a goddess and Chomusuke, a Dark God.

Ever since she absorbed Wolbach, Chomusuke has begun taking up more of her personality traits. For example, she has begun refusing to eat "pet food" such as leftovers or raw fish, instead preferring "human food" like biscuits. Chomusuke also started to like baths just like Wolbach did, even though she previously hated them, and even chooses to bathe with Kazuma just like Wolbach did.[3]

For Chomusuke's history, see her History tab.

Although Megumin insists Chomusuke is a regular cat, she demonstrated some irregular skills:

  • Breath (Fire): The skill to breathe out an elemental power, in Chomusuke's case, regular fire, as a result of Cecily's teachings.[4]
  • Flight: The ability to fly in the sky using her wings.[5]

  • While coming up with a name for Chomusuke, Yunyun came up with the name "Kuro" (which just means black). Megumin thought the name was weird and decided that it will be a temporary name until she comes out with a better one.[6]
  • "Kazuma" is among the names that Megumin's classmates recommended for Chomusuke when Megumin deemed the cat to be her familiar.[6]
  • Chomusuke doing something irregular like breathing fire and flying in front of Kazuma, while Megumin insists she is just a regular cat and Kazuma is imagining things, is a regular joke in the novel and manga. Although it doesn't happens in the anime, this is a regular joke in Isekai Quartet anime, with Subaru taking Kazuma's role in the joke.
