Hagen (ハーゲン) is the chief butler serving House Dustiness.[1]
Appearance[]
Hagen is an elderly man, around his 50's, with carefully combed hair and a mustache who dresses in a butler suit.
Personality[]
Althouth Hagen holds himself in a polite and courteous manner as befitting a butler serving a well-respected noble household, he is prone to panic, particularly with issues related to the Dustiness House, which Hagen serves.[2][1] Also, while he deeply cares about both Ignis and Lalatina, Hagen seems to have no respect by the last, seeing her as a useless woman those only strong point is her body, just like Kazuma.[2]
History[]
Having served the Dustinesses for many years and taken care of Darkness since her childhood, Hagen went out on many errands seeking the heiress after she ran off to Axel for becoming an adventurer.[3]
Subsequent to Darkness joining Kazuma's party, he was instructed not to show up at their mansion unless an emergency occurred, as was the case when Iris expressed her intent to stay at the Dustiness mansion for a meeting with Kazuma, which made Hagen worried that Darkness might have her noble status revoked if the party aggravated the princess. When arriving at the party's mansion, however, Kazuma fearing trouble tried to chase him away, and later Hagen's wrong choice of words saw Darkness strangling him in rage before he was able to convey his message.[2]
During the period Darkness was scheduled to marry Alderp, Hagen collected his heiress when she left her party,[4] then visited the party's mansion asking Kazuma to stop Megumin from sending threatening letters about an Explosion attack on the church upon the day of the wedding, and afterwards secretly petitioned Aqua to act as the priest overseeing the marriage so that she could help ruin it, though he later ran off in fright when Aqua attacked the visiting Vanir. On the day of the wedding, Hagen became the one to walk Darkness towards the church altar in place of the ailing Ignis, and saw the party off as Kazuma appeared to Darkness' rescue.[1]
