The Imitation Dragon (ドラゴンもどき) was a mish-mash of beasts created to look like a Dragon.[1]
Appearance[]
The Imitation Dragon looks like a chimeric mix of dragons, deer, and lions. It has two dragon heads, a pair of dragon wings, and a long spiny dragon tail that are all coloured grey, but also grows a pair of brown deer antlers on each head, in addition to sporting a lion's body and limbs covered in tan fur.
History[]
Long ago, the Head Researcher, in a blatant attempt to imitate Dragon Ball, tried to create a dragon that can grant any wish, but due to his lack of willpower and imagery regarding Dragons, he was only able to make a beast that looks like a Dragon by mixing the parts of other animals in. The resulting Imitation Dragon turned out to be a failure, as it not only was unable to grant wishes, but wasn't strong enough to defeat the Devil King either, and all it could do was go on uncontrolled rampages. Giving up on it, the Head Researcher accordingly created the seven Devil-Sealing Magical Stones for sealing the Imitation Dragon within, with the stones later ending up hidden in the depths of seven dungeons.
Many centuries afterwards, a shard of one of the magical stones was picked up by Aqua, and while inspecting it Vanir discovered that the seven magical stones were not the items that could grant wishes as rumoured, but containers used for sealing a monster. Yet for the sake of tasting the best despair and disappointment from Kazuma and his party once they find out the truth, he tricked them into gathering all seven of the stones and placing them upon an altar on the Island in the Sky, where the outflowing magic can release the Imitation Dragon. His scheme eventually worked just as planned, but it turned out the released Imitation Dragon wasn't controllable by anyone, and accordingly began attacking Vanir and all other party members, who barely made it out of the Island in the Sky and back to the outskirts of Axel.
Although the Imitation Dragon was tethered to the seven magical stones left on the altar and shouldn't have been able to leave the island, due to Aqua smuggling the shard of magical stone with her as she escaped, the Imitation Dragon managed to follow the party to right outside the city where it started rampaging. This attracted the gathering of adventurers who had journeyed with Kazuma during the search for the magical stones, and despite the Imitation Dragon drawing power from the magical shard in the midst of battle for recovering from damage, once Kazuma smashed the shard, it was left severely weakened. Subsequently pummelled by the combination attacks from Ran, Yunyun, Vanir, Darkness, Chris, Aqua, Kazuma, Mitsurugi, Wiz, and Megumin, the Imitation Dragon ended up destroyed without a trace.[2]
Abilities[]
- Flight: The Imitation Dragon is able to fly using the wings on its back.
- Sharp Tail (鋭い尻尾): The Imitation Dragon is able to deliver a powerful strike to an enemy with a sweep of its sharp tail.
- Flaming Breath (燃えさかる息): The Imitation Dragon can douse its enemies with flames breathed out from its right head.
- Freezing Breath (凍りつく息): The Imitation Dragon can douse its enemies with freezy air breathed out from its left head.
