Synopsis[]
After returning from his trip to Arcanretia, Kazuma is living life without a care in the world, thanks to his debts being all paid off by the reward money he earned from eliminating one of the Devil King's generals, Hans. One day, a rookie adventurer named Ran comes up to him in the Guild Hall asking for a handshake. She's apparently become a fan of Kazuma after his consecutive defeat of the Devil King's generals! This puts him in an amazing mood, but it's not long before the Guild receptionist Luna appears, asking him to take on a quest to eliminate a golem. Wanting to look good in front of a fan, Kazuma ends up accepting, and heads towards ancient ruins with Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness in tow.
Plot[]
Kazuma tries to pose as a veteran adventurer at the Guild, annoying the other adventurers and staff. A novice adventurer named Ran who says that she is his fan approaches him, so Kazuma coerces her into downing a cup of whiskey which he isn't strong enough for, before Luna hands him a quest to purge a Golem that he cannot refuse in front of his fan.
Kazuma can only convince Darkness and Megumin to join the dangerous quest, so he takes Aqua's staff to get her to follow them to the ancient ruins guarded by the Golem. The giant Golem looking like a robot bursts from the ground and starts punching Darkness, whose resistance falters as she fantasizes about getting ravaged. When Megumin is caught between capturing the cool Golem as a pet or destroying it to save Darkness, Aqua promises to make a cooler one for her with milk cartons, so she blows it down with Explosion. However, after Megumin calls for transporting the wreckage back home, the downed Golem self-detonates.
Kazuma gives an impressed Ran a romanticised account of the quest, but when Mitsurugi approaches Ran starts fangirling on him instead. Getting jealous, Kazuma boasts of how he defeated Mitsurugi as well as three of the Devil King's Generals, forcing him to accept another of Luna's quests (or else admit his glory was exaggerated).
With Aqua's hands full making the model Dendro Maiden, she refuses to join the quest to investigate the ancient ruins until hearing that the party can keep any treasures discovered. They proceed into the chambers underground, where Japanese commodities are lying around. Aqua while brawling with Chomusuke is attacked by little Golems possessed by Ghosts, which she destroys with God Blow and God Requiem. Rummaging through a living quarters, Aqua uncovers a diary initially written in Japanese but later penned in the local language.
The diary details a Japanese reincarnate's determination to defeat the Devil King and save the world with the ability Aqua granted him, which allowed creation of anything he imagines, such as the facility he inhabited. The reincarnate though discovered the products of his ability weren't strong enough to defeat the Devil King because he didn't have enough passion during production, so following long days of anguish, he abandoned the goal of defeating the Devil King, returned to his prior NEET lifestyle, and pursued his dream of creating Golems looking like robot girls. First creating the giant Golem, which he left to stand sentry on the surface due to its many flaws, the reincarnate proceeded with creating the Girl Golems. But the many designs he came up with did not satisfy him, so years later he left to seek employment so that he could hire human maids. At this point, Kazuma recognises him as the Head Researcher who created the Destroyer.
Kazuma insists on unlocking the chamber where a completed Pretty Girl Golem was stored, despite Aqua prophesying that this will end in disaster. The Pretty Girl Golem though turns out to be a sadistic dominatrix created for satisfying its creator's masochism, so she attacks him once Kazuma identifies himself as her master. Megumin in panic releases an Explosion that badly damages the ancient ruins, which the Guild makes the party pay for, and Kazuma is left with a sore anus by his encounter with the Pretty Girl Golem.
This failed quest is glossed over in Kazuma's glorified accounts of it to Ran at the Guild that night. After Ran runs off, Kazuma walks in on her arguing with Luna concerning pay for her boring and humiliating job of pretending to be his fan so that he will be motivated to take quests instead of lazing around. As his companions observe in amusement, the gravely upset Kazuma in revenge Steals Ran and Luna's panties.
