May I Have Good Luck in This Rebirth! (この転生に幸運を!, Kono Tensē ni Kōun wo!) is the twelfth chapter of the KonoSuba manga series, and covers the Prologue to Chapter 1 in Volume 2 of the light novels.

Summary[]

During a freezing winter day where Kazuma wishes for more money so he can get out of the chilly stables as well as pay off the huge debt caused by Aqua, at whom he pours hot Neroid onto, Darkness and Megumin browse the quest board where there are only difficult quests posted. Kazuma respectively rejects the ones for subjugating White Wolves and One-Punch Bears, before noticing one for scouting out something called the Mobile Fortress Destroyer. He and Aqua then settle for the quest to subjugate Snow Sprites, which unsettles Megumin and excites Darkness.

Trekking to the snowy forest where Snow Sprites gather, Kazuma slashes at the fleeing Snow Sprites while Aqua captures and bottles them for cooling down in summer, with the impatient Megumin finally casting Explosion to take them all out. The General Winter which protects the Snow Sprites subsequently manifests, and as Megumin feigns dead, Darkness excitedly resists the guardian sprite that took the appearance of a samurai because of other Japanese reincarnates' imagery, only to have her sword severed. Aqua quickly releases the captured Snow Sprites, before advising her companions to drop their weapons and bow for forgiveness. Darkness however is too prideful to do that, so Kazuma rushes forward to press her head down, but having raised his head, he accordingly gets beheaded by the General Winter.

In the afterlife dimension, Eris who acts like a real goddess offers him her condolences, at which Kazuma whinges about his reincarnated life getting ruined by his troublemaking party members who are now safe following the General Winter's departure, though when Eris is about to reincarnate him into a whole new life, he finds himself missing his companions. Suddenly Aqua calls in for Kazuma's soul to return to his body, on which she had already cast Resurrection, and blackmails a protesting Eris into opening the door of afterlife by citing her chest pads. Back in the world of the living, Kazuma is hugged by the relieved Megumin and Darkness as he feels disappointed with Aqua in comparison to Eris.
