Summary[]
Kazuma, upon discovering in addition to Hans being one of the Demon King's Generals, that Slimes in this world are actually powerful adversaries, turns tail to flee back down the mountain with his companions. Unable to come up with good ideas for fighting Hans when the gang stops for a meeting, Kazuma and Megumin agree on abandoning the town to its fate.
The irate Aqua thus heads back to fight, forcing the others into accompanying her to challenge Hans, who is back at poisoning the source reservoir. Yet when Hans reveals that he had eaten the old man maintaining the springs, Wiz becomes enraged at him breaking their promise of not killing innocent non-combatants, and accordingly freezes him in place with Cursed Crystal Prison. Hans though detaches one of his arms, before throwing the globule of deadly poison at the source reservoir, though Kazuma manages to blow it away with Wind Breath before it could fall in and contaminate the hot springs. He continues to blow away subsequent globules thrown by Hans, until his magical power runs out and lets one globule successfully land.
While Aqua frantically sticks her hands into the scalding source reservoir to Purify it while Wiz casts Freeze at her, the enraged Hans resorts to his primal nature in the form of a gigantic blob of poisonous slime.

Differences to other versions[]
- Hans in the light novel pursues the fleeing Kazuma and his companions for a distance, until he decides to spare them and instead return to poisoning the hot springs upon hearing Kazuma confess himself being a lowly Adventurer.
- In the light novel, Wiz first freezes Hans' arm in place only for him to break it off and run towards the uncontaminated spring, so she freezes his lower body mid-dash, though Hans then starts throwing detached parts of his body, which Kazuma with Aqua's Blessing Snipes out of the air until he runs out of arrows, forcing Wiz to cut away the connecting pipeline with Light of Saber for containing the contamination.
