Summary[]

Despite Darkness bleeding due to the rapier spearing through her arm, Claire is surprised that she cannot pull her weapon out until Darkness relaxes her muscles. Darkness then apologises to Iris, though she continues speaking in defence of Kazuma's honour over him refusing to divulge how he defeated Mitsurugi. Seeing Darkness' stoically defending him, Kazuma accordingly agrees to demonstrate what he used against Mitsurugi, so Claire also prepares to challenge him while ignoring Iris' pleas to stop. Kazuma proceeds to coolly cast Steal, which gains him the panties of an embarrassed Claire and a beating from an angry Darkness.

Claire apologises after Darkness' wound was healed by Aqua whose healing abilities she is impressed with, before lauding Megumin for her Crimson Magic Clan powers and Darkness for her toughness, yet she still holds reservations over her evaluation of Kazuma. At this moment, Iris whispers something to Lain, who advises the princess to personally speak with Kazuma because he has a soft spot for her. Iris in a huge contrast to her initial attitude consequently apologises to Kazuma and timidly asks to hear more of his adventure stories, to which the moved Kazuma immediately agrees.

Soon afterwards, the royal trio prepares their return to the Royal Castle, to whom Kazuma's party bid their farewells as Lain starts her incantations for Teleportation. But when Kazuma tells Iris how they can talk about more adventure stories the next time they meet, Iris to the surprise of her escorts instead drags him into the Teleport circle. Taken aback when he finds himself also Teleported to the entrance of the Royal Castle where he can continue to tell adventure stories, Kazuma is reminded of the royalty's audacity.

Following Iris into the castle past the greeting maids, Kazuma is led into a lavish bedroom that the mage who originated from a small noble family tells him is for his use so he can go on telling adventure stories. Lain proceeds to emphasise how Kazuma is "invited" and not kidnapped, and in response to Kazuma expressing his lack of more stories, she explains on Iris' behalf how bringing him to the castle was a small payback against Darkness for slapping her and being close with Kazuma, before asking to play with him. Finding Iris quite cute and getting petitioned by Lain to indulge this first bout of egoism from the princess, Kazuma agrees to stay behind and play with Iris, as well as ask for his concerned party members to be notified. Subsequently left alone with Iris, Kazuma hears of her father and her big brother fighting on the front lines against the Demon King's Army, and when asked to tell her more of what the world outside the Royal Castle is like, begins to talk about Darkness.

Claire later walks in on Kazuma narrating a graphic account of the time a naked Darkness embarrassingly washed his back while addressing the princess as an equal, prompting her to attempt cutting him down in frenzy. Iris however expresses her approval to Kazuma's way of address before asking to hear what the naked Darkness did next, then when Claire tells Kazuma to stop filling the princess' head with those disgusting stories, he instead cites the inappropriateness of an assistant like her deciding what should the princess listen to. Having the clarification about her being from the exalted House Symphonia ignored by Kazuma and instead referred to by her white suit, the exasperated Claire who had already finished the arrangements to make him an official guest of the castle pities Darkness. Deciding to drop the story topic for now, Kazuma then proceeds to tell of what happened when he won the contest against Darkness in which the winner does unspeakable things to the loser, which Claire frantically tries to stop.

After many more stories and Claire dozing off, Kazuma tells Iris of school festivals where children her age operate coffee shops or haunted houses for the purpose of having fun. As Iris wishes she can go to school, which Kazuma notices he hadn't seen much of in this world, he suggests her to start establishing schools. A sudden alarm warning of another attack by the Demon King's Army suddenly sounds all over the capital, and following Claire heading out to join the defending knights, Iris explains that it is impossible for children to peacefully study in this wartime environment, reminding Kazuma of how dangerous it is in this world where even the Royal Capital can get attacked.

The night raid by the Demon King's army is soon beaten off by knights and adventurers, and Kazuma despite being relieved at the rapidity of the skirmish starts wishing to leave this warzone. Iris thus proposes to have Lain send him back to where he will be safer even though she actually wants him to stay, an offer Kazuma makes to accept. Yet when Iris speaks of how her big brother used to talk like Kazuma, Kazuma asks her to call him a "big brother", and makes up his mind to remain at the castle.
