May the Self-Proclaimed Goddess Make Holy Water of This Lake! (この湖に自称女神の聖水を！, Kono Mizuumi ni Jishō Megami no Sēsui wo!) is the sixth chapter of the KonoSuba manga series, and covers Chapter 3 in Volume 1 of the light novels.

Summary[]
Aqua hollers to the party about taking quests to pay her new debts, and subsequent to Kazuma preventing her from selecting the one about stopping the turf war between Manticores and Griffins, she then chooses another one requiring the purification of a lake near the town so the Brutal Alligators infesting it will leave.
Although Aqua is able to complete the purification just by touching the water for half a day, since purifying the lake may attract the Brutal Alligators into attacking, Kazuma rents a large iron cage from the the Guild into which he locks Aqua. Next, the party transports the cage to the lake where they push it into the shallows, so Aqua can sit in the water and let her goddess essence seep out like a teabag, while Kazuma, Megumin, and Darkness observe from a safe distance as they drink tea.
Soon enough, following a discussion about going to the toilet, the Brutal Alligators gather around Aqua, making Darkness look on in envy as the reptiles bite on the cage. Some Brutal Alligators soon manage to bend the bars and stick their heads inside the cage so they can get their teeth on Aqua, at which Darkness charges up to her asking to switch places, only to get her clothes bitten off in an embarrassing display. Unable to watch any longer, Kazuma after downing a cup of water he created tells Megumin to let loose with her Explosion, leaving Aqua and Darkness floating unconscious alongside the Brutal Alligators. Kazuma as he carries Megumin later tells the hurt Aqua how the lake is purified, only to suspect that it had been contaminated again when Aqua pissed herself.
Back at the Guild, Kazuma celebrates their victory with Megumin and Darkness, though the traumatised Aqua shuts herself within the cage, until Kazuma threatens to sell her as a purifying device.

Differences to other versions[]
- In the light novel, the Brutal Alligators are unable to break into the cage, so Darkness and Megumin end up doing nothing but wait for the monsters to disperse upon the lake being purified.
- Aqua pissing into the lake is a manga-original feature.
- Instead of returning to the Guild with Aqua in the cage, in the light novel the party get impeded on the streets.
