Summary[]

Hesitating from the sheer suddenness of Darkness and Claire undressing without hesitation before his eyes, Kazuma is himself left with a bathtowel by a Claire enthusiastic over undressing the princess. As he bashfully follows into the bathroom, Kazuma when faced with the two beauties wearing only a towel begins understanding why did the Japanese reincarnate wish for a divine item that switches bodies. Yet when he asks for them to remove their bathtowels, Kazuma's sight is suddenly filled by some macho thugs ready to start a fight with him. Confusedly finding himself back in his body on the streets, the Megumin at his side goads Iris into the fight.

Megumin later explains to the beaten-up Kazuma that she had set up for the princess to display her fighting skills all of the royalty are taught, while Iris finding herself in the bathroom looks around in confusion. Kazuma then hears Megumin talk of her taking the princess on a tour of various stalls, before leading her into an alleyway where she provoked a fight with the thugs initially uninterested in her. Commenting on how Iris had a good time, he is again jabbed at by the jealous Megumin, and upon return to the Royal Castle, receives an even worse beating at the hands of the thoroughly infuriated Darkness and Claire.

Moping at a corner of the ballroom during the triumph banquet that night, Kazuma who even Iris is furious at reflects on how it got out of hand. He is further shaken when the nobles laud his party members for their exploits during the battle as well as praise Mitsurugi, while he on the other hand only receives disparaging comments. Claire next comes mocking him in addition to telling of his party members getting to stay at the castle for the night, so Kazuma retaliates by talking of her enjoying the bath with Iris, only to have Claire point out how it had been his party members who finished off the Demon King's Generals. Kazuma thus tries to defend himself by citing his job of sorting through their individual flaws to make the party work, yet Claire refutes with the suggestion of the state finding somebody to cover for their flaws while they get transferred to Mitsurugi's party, and recommends Kazuma to retire back to Axel unless he displays better prowess than his party members. Kazuma at this moment remembers about the divine item, which he asks to be given to Aqua so she can seal it, but Claire bashfully refuses due to it being a gift to Jatice and only having a short effect. She then orders him to leave the Royal Capital by tomorrow before scoffing at him not deserving to be at the banquet, and consequently sends Kazuma racing back to the inn in tears.

After Kazuma rages in his room over the truth of Claire's words, he goes to bed planning about returning to Axel and living a carefree life, but soon finds himself fretting over the unfinished boardgame contest with Iris in addition to feeling uncomfortable with his party members really joining Mitsurugi's party. Chris suddenly appears through the window to his surprise, so refusing her request again, Kazuma tells her about the divine item for switching bodies being a harmless one with only a short period of effect. But his attitude changes once told that the body switch becomes permanent if one side dies during the switching, making achieving immortality possible through switching with a younger body to whom all wealth had been bequeathed unto beforehand and killing the original aged body. With the divine item which was originally bought by some noble now sent to the royal family as a gift, Kazuma finally grasps the seriousness of the situation when Chris analyses it to be a conspiracy for switching bodies with the most powerful person of the country. Yet since sending a warning to the bigwigs and making the power of the divine item become publicly known will only tempt the nobles and even the royalty into misusing it, Chris suggests for them to go play with the princess instead.
