Summary[]
Without a way to retreat and faced with more opponents than they can handle, Kazuma is irritated by the presence of Mitsurugi who chooses to take on him, while Chris gets mentally shaken up by the Swordmaster asking the accompanying knights to deal with the other "boy". After consoling Chris, Kazuma leaps at Mitsurugi, who thinking that the thief wants to Steal his enchanted sword still sheathed at his back much like the time he lost to Kazuma, prepares to strike since he had already made precautions against it, only to have Gram Frozen onto its sheath. Surprised at being unable to draw his sword, Mitsurugi then finds himself given a mouthful of Created Water, which is subsequently Frozen to leave him unable to breathe.
Shocked at Mitsurugi collapsing in defeat, the enraged Claire stabs out at Kazuma, yet the attacks from her and the other knights get dodged by the Fleeing thieves. She thus calls for Lain to blast them with her spells, at which Kazuma aptly Deadeyes the crystal on Lain's magic rod to stop the casting, before running off with Chris to the amazement of Claire.
Following Chris laying another Wire Trap behind them, Kazuma pulls open the door leading to Iris' bedroom, behind which awaits Darkness. He quickly shuts the door and walks off with Chris, followed by the piqued Darkness running after them before seeing through the thieves' identities. Realising that their cover had blown, Kazuma and Chris begin an audible dialogue where they let Darkness know of their goal to retrieve a dangerous item worn by the princess.
Megumin next steps into the corridor intending to help capture the thieves, but is instead captivated by the cool mask Kazuma is wearing. Shaken by the ecstatic Megumin for more information on those thieves, the dilemmaed Darkness finally decides to act along, and allows herself to be Binded by Kazuma so the pair can proceed, only to be released by Aqua's Sacred Dispel. As Aqua who Chris hurriedly faces away from declares her intention of gaining more rewards for drinking and infuriates Kazuma, reinforcements begin to close in, so Kazuma and Chris agree to Steal from Iris once they rush inside her bedroom. Pestered by Aqua to capture the thieves, Darkness accordingly declares her intent to perform a Side Slash for helping the pair dodge it and break past her.
At last seeing Iris who had armed herself with a rapier and wearing a ring on her finger, Kazuma with Chris at his heels rushes towards the princess, stirring a moment of hesitation from her when she takes a good look at him, right before the pair both Steal something off her. During their dash towards the windows without checking what they Stole, Aqua as she rushes in with Megumin unleashes her powers for sealing, following which Kazuma and Chris burst through the windows and into the swimming pool below. Claire and Lain along with other knights soon arrive, then proceed to pursue the thieves upon confirming the safety of the princess, who forlornly caresses her empty hand.

Differences to other versions[]
- In the light novel, there is also a bunch of nobles onlooking from a distance hoping to watch the thieves being caught, though they scatter in panic once the duo charges through them.
- The manga omits the points about Mitsurugi carrying a load of miscellaneous items on him to reduce the chances of Gram being Stolen, as well as him later having the ice suffocating him thawed by Rain.
- Claire and Rain reach Iris' bedroom in the light novel right before the thieves break out the window.
