Summary[]

Chris late that night lets her discontent known to the masked Kazuma over him arriving late to their rendezvous outside Undyne's mansion for a second attempt on Aigis, since the earlier fireworks event, despite Kazuma being disillusioned by it, had reduced the mansion's security detail, previously heightened after their failed heist, down to only two guards. Confidently creeping close to take them out, Kazuma on the way overhears their conversation about how this year's Eris Appreciation Festival is much more enjoyable because of the vendor girls wearing swimsuits and "cosplays" of Succubi. The topic though soon drifts towards the person who came up with all the scummy ideas for heating up the double festivals, forcing Kazuma to frantically jump and Double Drain Touch them to unconsciousness before they can mention his name, before brushing off Chris' queries over the matter and spurring her onwards instead.

With the assistant and the boss respectively armed with a magic bead bought from some reliable shop and a magic wrapping cloth so they can block off any sound caused by the holy armour, the pair re-enters re-enter the hidden chamber Aigis is stored in, where Kazuma promptly breaks the bead to generate a wall of silence that renders all of the holy armour's ensuing telepathic yells unheard to those outside. While Chris begins removing the chains holding a pleading Aigis in place, the vengeful Kazuma freaks it out by promising to hand the suit of armour to a muscular and sweaty macho man, much to his boss' exasperation.

Yet just when Chris prepares to wrap up the unchained Aigis, to the surprise of the thieves the holy armour punches Kazuma as it begins moving on its own volition. Aigis accordingly declares its plans to go on a journey for seeking a beautiful woman to become its master, then rejects Chris' offers to wear it because her breasts are too small, before rendering the Bind unleashed by the enraged Thief ineffective through its skill-nullifying property. Kazuma and her thus try to overpower through physical force the suit of armour that can only be worn if its chosen wearer utters a keyword, only to find their strength wanting against Aigis as it steadily advances towards the exit. After Chris fails to convince the holy armour about her being Eris the goddess and instead gets taunted over her lack of breasts, Aigis stepping outside the sound-blocking barrier loudly declares his departure from Undyne's household, before breaking out a window and disappearing into the night.

Darkness on the following morning confronts about the incident the wanted thieves, who had managed to escape back to the party's mansion and started laying the blame on the other, then blows up over them performing the theft behind her back instead of letting the heiress negotiate the matter through noble means. She next bashfully mumbles about what had happened on the previous night, which Chris discovers to her shock involved Darkness paying a nighttime visit to Kazuma while dressed in an unexpected fashion. As the acting governor fends off her friend's requests for more details, her mumbling about Aqua causing trouble prompts Kazuma into asking about the specifics, which turns out to be the Axis Church using their unexpectedly high earnings as leverage for demanding that only the Aqua Appreciation Festival gets held next year.

Angrily storming to the local Axis branch, Kazuma finds Aqua posing like a villainess as she drinks wine and pets Emperor Zel while Cecily attends to her. Further infuriated by the goddess ignoring his displeasure over the terms on the church's application to Darkness and instead approving Cecily's proposal of allowing Gelatinous Slime, he goes on to rage about Aqua having lied about not getting carried away. The goddess scared into hiding behind her follower proceeds to claim how she should be rewarded for all her hard work, while Cecily who reasserts the Axis Church's purpose of pampering Aqua threatens to sing endless hymns at Kazuma's home. Failing to drag away the useless goddess, he hears from Aqua who prefers the company of her followers that the festivities, in which the stalls of the Eris Church are now ignored by customers, will convince people into solely holding the Aqua Appreciation Festival in future anyways. As Kazuma realises in horror how Aqua had not changed at all, the goddess divulges about her still harbouring another secret plan.
