Synopsis[]
Kazuma and his friends return to Axel and receive 300 million eris as a reward for subjugating Sylvia, an executive of the Devil King's army. Kazuma and Aqua go to high-end restaurants, and Aqua enjoys her long-awaited life as a celebrity.
Plot[]
Kazuma and party become wealthy from the 300 million eris that the Guild awards their party for defeating Sylvia, prompting other adventurers to comment on how much Kazuma's party had grown, so Kazuma upon being praised excitedly treats everybody to drinks using the money Luna hands him.
While eating lunch with Aqua a week later at a high-class restaurant where the Ruffian also dines, Kazuma and her make a scene in which they call the chef who cooked their dishes out for praising him, before the pair both pretend to be cultured rich gourmets despite them wrongly guessing the ingredients. Subsequent to leaving behind the meal payment that they call a "generous tip", the two of them prepare to try out another expensive establishment. But after returning to the mansion, the pair discovers to their bewilderment the living room to be as hot as a sauna, in the midst of which is an enjoying Darkness who is tied up inside a blanket and a Megumin tempting her with ice. Kazuma and Aqua thus proceed to leave them while blessing their homosexual love, prompting Megumin to frantically explain.
Hearing afterwards that Darkness was training for a heat endurance competition, Kazuma tells her to do it at her family home, yet Darkness is reluctant because her father's health had recently deteriorated. He next tickle tortures Darkness as payback for her tormenting him when he got Binded in Aldarp's manor. Following them untying the pleasured perverted Crusader, he notices Aqua pouring magical power into what she claims to be a Dragon's egg, which she had purchased when alone at the mansion from a seedy salesman in exchange for all of her reward money. Aqua goes on to name the baby Dragon Kingsford Zeltman or Emperor Zel for short, all the while oblivious to the face Kazuma makes because he realised that she got duped by a chicken egg.
The next day, Megumin swelters under a blanket as she sits in front of the fireplace warming the egg in Aqua's place, so that the goddess who denies her egg being that of a chicken's will agree on accompanying Kazuma and Darkness to Wiz's Shop. Aqua promptly bashes on the door loudly upon arrival, earning the ire of Vanir as he comes out to quarrel with her. The Demon afterwards tells the trio, who is coming for the business venture payment, about Wiz whom he forced to work nonstop as a means of deterring her from bankrupting the shop by purchasing more junk from Hyoizaburoo, to the point she went deliriously crazy despite the great sales figures, and had to be put to rest especially with Beldia calling to her.
Vanir next points out how Darkness vents her pent-up sexual desires at night to her frantic embarrassment, and with Aqua's aura interfering with his foresight, offers to tell for free the fortune of the noble girl, since a fate of destruction hangs over her. After punching Kazuma for further inquiring about her way of venting desires, Darkness agrees to have her fortune divined by placing her hand upon a crystal ball just like Vanir requests. Subsequently faced with a string of questioning from him, however, Darkness gets pressured into admitting about lightening her armour because of her splitting abs adding on weight, as well as the time she imagined wearing Megumin's cute dress which she had found in the laundry. She finally loses it when Vanir asks about her purposefully wearing revealing clothes in the mansion when Kazuma was around, at which the Demon reveals that the questioning has no connection with the divining but only serves to pass time before the results show up in the crystal ball.
Managing to calm down Darkness who tries to pry his mask off, Vanir properly divines Darkness facing a future of destruction due to a calamity befalling her household and her father, in which she futilely tries to overcome it by sacrificing herself, even though nobody including her father will be happy as a result. The Demon then advises her to flee and start over someplace else with Kazuma whom he candidly disparages, since there is nothing she can do about it, although Darkness who takes the divination with a grain of salt refuses to run. Following Darkness' return to check on her family residence, Vanir advises Kazuma who later fished a frog out of the river not to satisfy himself with his current wealth but to create more sellable products, since it may end up actually giving him a chance at helping Darkness.
The next day, Kazuma is brushing Chomusuke when Darkness, who got him worried by staying out all night, bursts in hurriedly petitioning him to accept a good quest against the Kowloon Hydra, which is a powerful monster soon to awake from its ten-year slumber under a lake close to Axel, yet Kazuma is reluctant to go after such a strong adversary. Darkness continues to pester Kazuma into subjugating the Kowloon Hydra which may threaten the town, and with him refusing to fight now that he is rich, promises to reward him with a kiss if he emerges victorious, only to be taunted for its lack of value, so she tearfully begs him into agreeing.
While Megumin excitedly declares at the lake her intent of becoming a "Dragon Slayer", Kazuma and Darkness keep from fleeing a reluctant Aqua who wails about her need to hatch Emperor Zel and protests his egg being put in the care of Wiz's Shop, since they need her help to lure the Hydra out. Aqua later on frolics in the lake so that her purification of the water will incite the Kowloon Hydra into appearing, and in the meantime Kazuma answers the other girls' queries about her exceptional powers by citing her proclamation as a goddess. They soon detect the magical power of the Kowloon Hydra when it surfaces towards the sleeping Aqua's location, and so frantically scream to wake her up, only to be surprised by the monster's size being that of a small island. As Aqua who couldn't flee in time panickedly shrieks from one of the Hydra's heads she found herself trapped on, Aldarp back in his mansion sinisterly grins at a portrait of Lalatina.

Differences to other versions[]
- Luna in the light novel hesitates when handing the stupendous reward money over to Kazuma, whose party members especially Aqua had thought he was summoned to the Guild for some heinous crime, and even packed her bags in advance.
- Darkness after being untied in the light novel goes off the shower before Aqua explains about buying the "Dragon's" egg.
- Immediately following Kazuma being punched by Darkness, Aqua in the light novel simply refuses to Heal him because he asked for it, forcing Kazuma to find ice for alleviating he pain.
- Vanir in the light novel talks Kazuma out of spending his payment on the Succubus Cafe subsequent to Darkness leaving the shop by reminding him about a prophecy given during their first meeting at the shop, which foretold both Kazuma and Darkness needing an enormous fortune to overcome an upcoming calamity.
- Aqua in the light novel has an argument with Vanir after Darkness leaves the shop, in which they sprout prophesies insulting the other, making Kazuma sneak away from the pair before they start fighting.
- Kazuma fishing on the bridge is an anime-only feature.
- Hyoizaburoo, Beldia and Aldarp's cameos appear only in the anime.
- In the light novel, several days after Vanir's fortune-telling, a servant of House Alexei rudely barges into the party's mansion during dinnertime demanding Darkness go see his lord, prompting Aqua who had asked Megumin to feed her while she warms the egg to eat the Crusader's dinner, before Darkness returns the following day calling for the party to hunt the Kowloon Hydra.
- Kazuma while brushing Chomusuke in the light novel asks her to revert into a pretty cat-eared girl, and upon Darkness' return informs her about Aqua taking Megumin out to shop for dragon collars.
- On the party's way to the lake in the light novel, Darkness, as they drag along the wailing Aqua, explains how the kingdom had in the past sent knights to wear down the Kowloon Hydra until it has to go into slumber again.
- Megumin in the light novel explains how she had previously failed to earn the title "Dragon Slayer" by blowing up a Wyvern because it was a baby.
