The fourth chapter of the Kyakkou manga, which covers Chapter 3 in Volume 1 of the light novels.
Summary[]
Piqued over Rin, Keith, and Taylor at the Guild lauding Kazuma's brilliance during their prior party swap while picking on him in contrast, Dust who is out of money suggests going on a quest, yet his party members decide to pass because they had earned enough rewards from fighting a Demon King's General to last the winter, with Keith nearly revealing to Rin about the place that he frequents. Dust then notices Kazuma trying to look for quests because he is also deep in debt thanks to a whining Aqua, and in the meantime an excited Darkness asks to be reproached, followed by an eager Megumin wishing to cast Explosion and nothing else.
With no other choice but to look for quests by himself while his party members return to their inn, Dust finds one that entails subjugating Orcs. Taking it up to Luna whose boobs he asks to grope only to get rebuked, he is told of a nearby village requesting the elimination of a dozen Orcs that made the men refuse to go out and work in fear of being squeezed dry by the lecherous monsters. Although Dust wants to back out, Luna persuades him into accepting by talking about a "beauty bath" the villagers may invite him to upon success. A little girl subsequently pulls Dust's sleeve and makes Luna mistake her to be kidnapped by him, before introducing herself as the daughter of the woman requesting that quest. She proceeds to explain how her father who was assaulted by the Orcs had shut himself inside his room from the trauma, and asks for Dust whom she calls unpopular to retrieve the birthday present her father had dropped in his escape.
Dust ponders how he cannot use the services of the Succubus Cafe without money while sitting on the general store's unsold chair and putting a price tag on his own items before sneaking them onto the shelves, at which the irate owner brings up Mitsurugi being a better candidate than Dust for defeating the Orcs, which gives Dust the idea of letting Mitsurugi defeat the Orcs in his place. In order to trick Mitsurugi into going after the Orcs, Dust asks for the Loli Succubus, who had bungled her assignment with Kazuma, to dress up as a village girl and beg in tears for Mitsurugi to save the village men from the Orcs. Initially reluctant, the Loli Succubus is enticed when Dust offers to specifically request and recommend her services so she can become the top Succubus, then eventually accepts upon the cafe manager's encouragement.
The two of them consequently hide alongside a mountain road waiting for Mitsurugi, who hurries along it due to hearing a rumour spread by Dust about Aqua being in danger, though the Loli Succubus points out Dust's misconception about girls liking to have their heads stroked. When Mitsurugi comes into sight, the Loli Succubus runs out feigning distress, and tells him that Orcs had attacked her village where Aqua had ran to assist, before showing him towards the position of the Orcs. Dust then suggests they follow to see how Mitsurugi fares, as well as finish off the Orcs in case the Swordmaster loses, earning him the criticism of the Loli Succubus.
It turns out that Mitsurugi had managed to defeat all of the Orcs, so Dust afterwards went to search the Orc bodies even though the Loli Succubus highlights how the Orcs don't carry anything of value. But just as they discuss Mitsurugi's obsession with Aqua, the said Swordmaster who had turned back comes up to question how come the two of them seem to be working together. The Loli Succubus in panic pretends not to know Dust by making an unbelievable excuse, while Dust feigns being Charmed by the Succubus whose tail he pulls out from under her skirt. Enraged, the Loli Succubus blurts out how Dust had schemed to make a fortune with Mitsurugi's sword, prompting the riled Swordmaster to unsheathe his sword. With their calls for calmness falling on deaf ears, Dust pulls up the Loli Succubus' skirt, then as Mitsurugi looks away in embarrassment, grabs the Succubus and flees.
Later at the Succubus Cafe, Dust grumbles about the young women at the village all having left for the city when he went there to report his success, Mitsurugi beating him back to the Guild and taking the rewards for the quest, as well as Rin hearing of the debacle and further chiding him in addition to calling his debt to her. The cleaning Loli Succubus who reproves Dust for hindering her accordingly describes him not getting paid as "reaping what he sowed", though Dust insists that he had torn the phrase out of his dictionary. Proceeding to refuse Dust's appeal for help, the Loli Succubus warns of banning the scum from the Cafe's services if he does something to her. Dust thus switches to lauding the Loli Succubus for her acting skills, and upon her being flattered talks her into making Mitsurugi have a traumatic nightmare. When questioned on the safety of the plan, Dust assures the Loli Succubus how Mitsurugi won't detect her approaching because Fio and Cremea who stays at the inn room neighbouring his always squabbles, while he will accompany her as the lookout.
The plan however fall apart that night, since just as the Loli Succubus sneaks beside a sleeping Mitsurugi only to discover him in a drunken sleep which renders dreaming impossible, Fio and Cremea who had got him all drunk burst into his room attempting to raid him, and promptly chase the Succubus as well as Dust around town all through the night. Managing to lose them at daybreak, Dust is notified by the Loli Succubus of the little girl from the village tugging at him, at which he hands over her father's birthday gift that he had retrieved from the Orcs' bodies, much to the amused fascination of the Loli Succubus.
