Luckless (ラクレス) is an adventurer in the Kingdom of Belzerg.[1]
Appearance[]
Luckless is a woman with the signature blond hair and blue eyes of a noble, who is dressed in Crusader attire.
Personality[]
Fitting with her noble upbringing and job, Luckless displays a dignified manner at all times when dealing with people.
History[]
The survivor of a noble household that was destroyed by the Devil King's Army, Luckless aiming to avenge them went adventuring as part of Ozuma's party alongside Acua and Megumi. Yet at some point in time, people began mistaking them for the party lead by Kazuma Satou, who despite defeating Hans and avenging Ozuma's friend, had also left behind such an awful reputation that Ozuma's party got repeatedly troubled because of their names' similarity.
Accompanying Ozuma to Axel in search of this Kazuma, Luckless and the other women soon found Ozuma, who had wandered off to ask around, speaking with a young man named Tanaka. Later relocating to a restaurant, the whole party heard Tanaka tell them the tear-jerking story of how Kazuma worked diligently to drag himself out of debt and was now a rich developer of goods.
Although the party intended on returning to their hometown the next day, they accordingly discovered that this "Tanaka" was actually Kazuma himself, in addition to other facts of Kazuma's scumminess that got left out of his autobiography. Luckless thus followed an angry Ozuma for a visit to Kazuma's mansion the following morning, though the retorts by Kazuma's party proved tougher to deal with than expected. She anyhow managed to drive Darkness into tears by calling her an "imposter" with a name sounding like a dark knight, before Luckless and her party accepted Megumin's challenge of them making a name in Axel as adventurers.
For the following weeks, Luckless joined her party in diligently hunting powerful monsters around Axel, including a lot of One-Punch Bears, while aiding many other adventurers, which earned them the gratitude of local farmers and many drinks at the Guild. When Kazuma's party finally showed up, at whom Ozuma confidently proclaimed his victory over the "imposters", Luckless was about to tell Kazuma their other goal for coming to Axel, when an adventurer returned with a companion mortally wounded by White Wolves, whom Aqua easily healed.
Luckless and her party later followed Kazuma's party to the Axel's outskirts, where Kazuma explained how their overhunting of One-Punch Bears, which had been competing with White Wolves, had disrupted the local ecology so much that White Wolves were now gathering close to the city. Discovering a pack larger than expected, Luckless prepared to buy time for reinforcements to arrive, only for Darkness to step up for shielding them all from the effects of Megumin's magic, and, like her party, Luckless was astounded by Aqua who claimed of being able to easily resurrect anybody who got killed. After Kazuma Sniped the pack's alpha with a silver arrow, Luckless became astonished when the rest of the pack was attracted by Darkness so that Megumin could wipe them all out with an Explosion.
After her whole party apologised to Kazuma's party and revealed their other goal of thanking Kazuma for defeating Hans, Luckless and her companions talked about their past as well as how they were now convinced that the bad rumours about Kazuma's party were all fictitious, only to have Kazuma and his companions apologise to them instead.
Abilities[]
Luckless fights with a sword and shield, and generally serves to cover her allies from enemy attacks.
