A Tale of Demon King Megumin's Wonderful Supremacy (魔王めぐみんの素晴らしき覇業譚, Maō Megumin no Subarashiki Hagyōtan) is the thirteenth chapter of the Megumin Anthology manga series, and was illustrated by Futaba Masumi.
Megumin introduces herself before casting Explosion, then while being carried back by Kazuma, she realises that she had finished everything she wanted to do in the first page. As Megumin fusses over what to do with the remaining 15 pages, Kazuma tells her not to shout behind his back or else he'll grope her butt, which he actually wants to do.
Megumin explains how this manga is about the Demon King Megumin and her party members' tales of supremacy filled with their glories and distresses, something she can go on about for 100 pages. Kazuma again tells her not to play on his back, then thinks of how he wants to grope her butt, but is stopped when Megumin responds to the voice in his heart.
After Megumin collapses from an Explosion, Kazuma while carrying her comments on these trips to and fro as the biggest waste of time in his life. Megumin thus calls him out for his foolishness, since in their endeavour to defeat the Demon King, improving the effects of Explosion is no waste of time. Yet at Kazuma's rebuttal over her not improving on the energy expenditure part, Megumin decides to stay silent.
Returning to their mansion, Kazuma sets Megumin onto the couch before lounging around himself. Megumin thus calls Kazuma out for wasting time lazing at home instead of taking quests, and at him deciding to stay silent when unable to retort, indicates how they are two of a kind.
Kazuma begins dreading his NEETitus recurring due to him getting a new home, though Megumin finds him still lazing around despite his grim words. She then loudly reminds him of their final goal of defeating the Demon King so she can replace him, but fails to get up herself due to her Explosion fatigue. Megumin thus states that they will carry it out tomorrow, a phrase which Kazuma finds real tempting to a NEET.
Yunyun, who identifies herself as Megumin's publicly-recognised rival instead of a self-proclaimed one, sneaks towards the mansion to defeat Megumin. Yet upon hearing Megumin loudly reminding Kazuma, she runs off in panic.
Contemplating on how she fled at hearing a loud voice due to having little experience with visiting friends' homes, Yunyun approaches the mansion again as she reminds herself that Megumin isn't a friend but a rival. She then hears Megumin's phrase about carrying it out tomorrow, which also ensnares her.
Aqua suddenly bursts in to give Kazuma a God Strike as a final way to make the rotten NEET go work, since she cannot stand her servant living a hermetic life, an identity that Kazuma vehemently denies. Meanwhile, Megumin describes Aqua as somebody who unlike herself is crazy and very much carefree, whose smiles can heal the feelings of the party. The Kazuma pestered by Aqua, however, calls Megumin a "crazy wizard" while asking for help.
Aqua then makes the turning pose from the first episode of the anime as she reminds Kazuma that she'll be really troubled if he doesn't defeat the Demon King soon, only to find Megumin mimicking her, following which the fatigued Megumin explains how her policy requires her to follow along with somebody making poses no matter how tired she is.
As Kazuma tries to block his ears from Aqua's hollering, Megumin who sees him about to concede ponders that gradually starting a big adventure like this isn't too bad. Aqua soon pauses when she sees a revived Megumin making another pose, while Kazuma feels really reluctant with bringing the pair onto long journeys.
Kazuma concedes that hiding at home isn't realistic with all the debt they have, thus declares going onto a big adventure for defeating the Demon King. Aqua is accordingly delighted, since now she can return to the Heavenly Realm as well as run from her newly racked debt. The new debt ends up getting her cheeks pulled by an enraged Kazuma, while Megumin continues with her posing.
Megumin confirms Kazuma's intention for going on an adventure, though he actually wants to head for unknown lands alone. Aqua who plans to bilk on her debts despite being a goddess then begs for him to leave quickly, since Kazuma's own debts can also be left behind if he flees with her, yet Kazuma refuses because bilking on debts is the worst thing a human being can do.
The following day in the mansion's yard, Kazuma packs up all ready to leave. But while Aqua is overjoyed, Megumin calls Kazuma out for falling to the temptations of bilking the debt despite his great words, which causes him to falter in embarrassment.
Yunyun approaches again to challenge Megumin, only to be shocked upon seeing them from a distance all dressed up for travel. Aqua next produces a lit torch, with which she plans to raze the mansion so their determination can be cemented, much to Kazuma and Yunyun's shock.
As Kazuma pushes at Aqua to stop her from committing criminal arson before they set out, Yunyun who cannot hear what they are saying plans to sneak closer through the bushes while holding up branches to disguise herself as shrubbery. Yet at that moment, Aqua's torch goes flying because of the tussle right onto Yunyun's head, causing her to run off in flames to the party's puzzlement.
Upon hearing how their reason for journeying was to bilk on debts, Darkness comments on it being too pathetic, while Aqua and Kazuma lay blame on the other. Meanwhile, Megumin describes Darkness as a Crusader whose body is a little better than hers, and goes on to emphasise the "a little" part when Darkness gets turned on by Kazuma relentlessly scolding a female.
Megumin lists herself and the other party members working under her self-proclaimed leadership as the main members of the much-narrated story about the rise of Demon King Megumin. She proceeds to order her party into setting off, only to hear Darkness reminding the others that journeying is impossible since they are in debt and don't have the money for travelling.
When asked by Megumin about them not going on an adventure after all, Darkness answers in confirmation because it is still too early for them to go defeat the Demon King. Megumin though pokes at Darkness with her magic rod for not reading the atmosphere over how motivated she had been, and Darkness after having her boobs painfully poked at petitions Megumin to continue, though Megumin expresses her reluctance at this.
Darkness next reminds the others how they hadn't been taking quests lately, and suggests for them to actively go questing so that they won't have to worry about the travel fees. Unable to refute Darkness' fair argument, Aqua wonders if Darkness is the only one in the party with common sense. Megumin though objects because that role should belong to her, and as she starts poking at a delighted Darkness again, Aqua is relieved to see how everybody's useless.
Kazuma accordingly finds Darkness being quite normal that day despite still a masochist, at which Darkness with Aqua's agreement proclaims herself to be always forthright. She quickly tells the others to accept a quest so they can continuously battle towards their goal, yet to Megumin and Aqua's horror, that quest turns out to be one against Giant Toads.
During the quest, Darkness who likes getting slimy is gobbled up by the Giant Toads along with the other girls who hate getting slimy, all the while a frantic Kazuma has to run around defeating the amphibians. Managing to complete the quest despite the party getting slimy as a result, Darkness later confesses that she had taken advantage of the party's earlier confusion to accept this quest. As the others get mad, Megumin inwardly describes Darkness as somebody who is forthright regarding her own desires.
Yunyun sporting a bandaged head from the flames stumbles towards the mansion for Megumin, and is overjoyed to see the party returning, so she tears off the bandage and happily runs towards them from behind, only to slip on their trail of slime.
Unbalanced by her jiggling boobs, the slipping Yunyun crashes into some bushes out of the party's sight, to Megumin's puzzlement. Kazuma accordingly asks "Slimin" what's going on, so Megumin who doesn't like being called that states how she seemed to have just detected an unpleasant dance of fat.
Having cleaned off the slime after bathing, Megumin finds Kazuma slipping back into NEET mode in which he hates trouble. Meanwhile, Aqua is treated to bubbly as apology by Darkness, who rejoices the slime she is still covered in, making Megumin realise that she can never become the Demon King at this rate.
She thus asks Wiz for a magical item capable of making people motivated, and when Wiz comments on the rarity of her heading to the shop by herself, Megumin proceeds to poke at Wiz's boobs which she claims are a provocation to her by the Lich. The Archwizard goes on to use it as an excuse for receiving magical items free of charge, to Wiz's exasperation.
Poking at Wiz's voluptuous butt which is also infuriating in what the Lich sees as threatening more than petitioning, Megumin yells about running out of time. Then when Wiz thinks that the Demon King's army is attacking, she clarifies the issue to be her about to wake up from the passion of adventuring and return to the temptation of the everyday life, where she will be satisfied by simply casting Explosions before lazing around all day.
Wiz thus recommends the choker from before, which once slapped onto Megumin's party members, will choke them to death if they don't go on an adventure within three days. This incites Megumin into preparing an Explosion, to Wiz's horror.
Walking back out onto the streets with zero results, Megumin suddenly feels the black flames of motivation burning within her covered "evil eye" slipping away. She accordingly makes a dramatic effort to suppress the sloth in her, causing the passing Ruffian to notice her as the crazy person in Kazuma's party.
The Ruffian is next surprised to see Megumin thrash about on the ground as she fails to retain her flames of motivation, before seeing her get up and mutter about being hungry. As Megumin hops back home to eat and laze around, the Ruffian pities Kazuma's party.
Back at the mansion where Kazuma is still lounging about, Aqua is still drinking bubbly, and Darkness is still enjoying being slimy, Megumin returns to her daily life which involves lazing around on the couch. Then at Kazuma's comments regarding her speaking to herself a lot, she who clarifies herself as a talkative character hopes that he will refrain from referring to her in such fashion, because it may cause people to think of her as a crazy person.
Megumin next hears of a visitor coming in, who turns out to by an exhausted Yunyun sporting a lump on her head. Yunyun proceeds to excitedly challenge Megumin, only to have her rival shut the door in her face.
