Gifting Growth for this Modest Body! (この慎ましい身体に成長を！, Kono Tsutsumashii Karada ni Sēchō wo! ) is the the twenty-fifth chapter of the Megumin Anthology manga series, and was illustrated by Texteater.
Summary[]
Megumin introduces herself in Crimson Magic Clan fashion as an Archwizard who wields Explosion Magic, before complaining about having to work part-time at a shop on the squalid outskirts, which respectively results in Kazuma yelling at her and Wiz weeping in shock. Kazuma next reminds Megumin of how they have no money, since their debt is so huge that completing quests one by one will not help reduce it much. With Aqua and Darkness working as vegetable seller and waitress respectively, Megumin who can only cast one Explosion per day got hired alongside him by the sympathetic Wiz because she needs helpful hands, therefore the Archwizard has no choice but to seriously work.
Muttering about Kazuma lacking the self-awareness of being an adventurer, Megumin later opens a crate filled with vials of potion tagged to be power-up items called "Grow Biggerer", which temporarily makes the drinker transform into an adult and gain strong powers. Ensnared by the thought of herself as a voluptuous adult, she decides to help herself to one vial of the foul-tasting potion, before realising that nothing has changed. Suddenly called at by Kazuma, the startled Megumin frantically hides the empty vial behind herself while stammering about many more merchandise still remaining. Kazuma though finds Megumin acting suspicious, and proceeds to grill her over her dubious actions, all the while watching her size grow bigger until she surpasses him in height.
After Kazuma yells at Megumin for using an item without consent following her panicked confession, he concludes from the shape of her bust and hip that she did not grow up, but simply grew bigger in size, much to Megumin's chagrin. Wiz then walks in on the two of them bickering, and upon hearing of what happened, wonders if Megumin is actually of the Giant Tribe. Indignantly replying that she is of the Crimson Magic Clan, Megumin starts feeling the shop becoming too cramped as she continues to grow under the effects of the dubious potion. Subsequently called by Kazuma to flee, Wiz looks on in horror when Megumin bursts through the roof of her shop to cause alarm among the neighbours. Megumin's body eventually reverts to normal once the effects of the defective potion passes, making her feel how having a small body isn't too bad. Kazuma, on the other hand, is infuriated about them losing their jobs and increasing their debt.
