A Quest in this Everyday Life! (この日常にクエストを！, Kono Nichijō ni Kuesuto wo!) is the first chapter of the KonoSuba Nichijou manga series.
Summary[]
Kazuma Satou leads a "happy" other world life where his work progresses "smoothly", thanks to "reliable" party members around him who makes his life "secure" and "wonderful".
At the Guild, the spendthrift Aqua once again hounds a reluctant Kazuma for money, when Megumin finds a quest for eliminating a Stone Golem at the rocky area, though Kazuma calls her out for simply wanting to cast Explosion in addition to Aqua who wants easy money. Darkness proceeds to explain how it is a good use for Megumin's magic before masochistically volunteering to be the bait, so Kazuma agrees to take the quest.
Initially unable to see anything at the rocky area, the party is soon faced with a huge Golem of stone looming over them. Stopping Megumin from casting Explosion until they are assured of its capability of ending the foe, Kazuma notices a bunch of stones big and small with faces on them in the vicinity. Irritated by their looks, Kazuma hacks out at one of them, only to make it glow and blow up, before Megumin while Darkness holds back the Stone Golem belatedly tells him to his anger that those are Explosion Stones.
As Aqua who was also caught in the explosion unleashes her useless party tricks, the exasperated Kazuma suddenly gets an idea. He tells the anticipating Darkness to lure the Stone Golem close to the remaining Explosion Stones, which he then instructs Megumin to cast Explosion at so that the resulting explosion will be amplified. After a series of chanting from a rocky outcrop, Megumin lets loose her Explosion in a spectacular explosion that not only destroys all the monsters but catches the whole party too, though subsequent to pulling themselves up they are all happy at completing the quest, except for the useless Aqua who Kazuma says won't be getting any rewards.
