A Blacksmith in this Everyday Life! (この日常に鍛冶屋を！, Kono Nichijō ni Kajiya wo!) is the twenty-third chapter of the KonoSuba Nichijou manga series.
Summary[]
The day after Kazuma's party arrived at the Crimson Magic Village, Darkness who wipes her armour while Aqua calls Kazuma names is given a map by Megumin so she can find her way to the blacksmith. Choosing to wear her armour in case the Devil King's Army attacks, much to Kazuma's unease, Darkness proceeds to head out.
The blacksmith upon Darkness' arrival recognises her to be the Dustiness heiress based on her armour, as his wares don't sell well in the village filled with mages, making him depend on the patronage of outsiders. After Darkness praises her armour for allowing her to work as a Crusader, she hears the blacksmith who is also an Arch Wizard talk of using magic to create it at a forge much hotter than regular ones, and thus starts fantasizing about its intensity.
Darkness snaps out of it when she notices a sack filled with axes and coins, which the blacksmith explains are materials he regularly reclaims from the village's Wishing Fountain, where people toss those things into as a result of rumours about throwing in axes to summon a goddess or dropping coins in to make wishes come true, and acts innocent when Darkness asks him if the rumours are true.
He next presents her with other accessories made by him, though in the village the term also includes small daggers. Glimpsing Darkness' sword, the blacksmith asks if she will like to replace it with a giant one that he pressures her into making practising swings with. Darkness therefore goes ahead to swing with it much to his delight, though Soketto takes a wide berth as she walks past embarrassed, and Megumin recalls how the blacksmith likes to see young girls wielding giant swords.
