The Red-Eye Dead Slayers (レッドアイ・デッドスレイヤー) is the Crimson Demon Village community patrol, a self-proclaimed guerilla force of Crimson Demons fighting against the Devil King's Army.[1]
Overview[]
Established by Bukkororii following his heartbreaking from Soketto's inability to divine his future lover, it assembled the NEETs living in the Crimson Demon Village into a band of vigilantes who wandered all around the village pretending that they were busy patrolling for threats from the Devil King's Army.[2] Subsequent to Megumin and Yunyun's graduation, it became a place for the latter to conveniently level up in the company of other people, while the former kept refusing Bukkororii's invitations to join despite being a NEET herself.[1]
Ever since somebody began casting Explosions in the forests outside the village every single night, however, the vigilantes were forced to fulfill their responsibility by scouring the dim wilderness for the culprit. After repeated nights of searching turned out nothing, a clue was finally uncovered when Bukkororii following another Explosion chanced upon Megumin and Yunyun all battered and fatigued, before hearing of how they had ran into the culprit who was a powerful Demon looking like a horned voluptuous woman.[1] The next morning when patrolling around Megumin's home, Bukkororii and some of his companions were alerted by a Fireball detonating in the vicinity, at which they noticed Arnes who matched the description squaring off against Megumin and Yunyun, prompting them to immediately launch a magic barrage at the horned and voluptuous female Demon in order to drive her away.[3]
When Sylvia leading a huge contingent of the Devil King's Army made constant attacks on the village, in addition to joining the other villagers with repelling enemy assaults, the band of vigilantes (which Soketto in the anime also joined)[4] really worked as a guerilla force that struck out against any pockets of Onis (or Goblins in the anime)[4] that they could find in the area surrounding the village, and on one occasion rescued Megumin and Yunyun on their way back home alongside Kazuma's party.[5] Taking them back to the village and then returning to patrol, but not before playing a prank on Yunyun for exposing their show-off tricks only to be chased off by Aqua, the vigilantes helped fight off another enemy attack, much to the impressed astonishment of the outsiders.[6]
Some members also showed up at Megumin's home alongside Kazuma and other villagers on the next day as Darkness was holding back a sneak attack led by Sylvia herself, and subsequent to Kazuma scaring the Devil King's General into retreating, they participated in blasting away at the fleeing monsters.[7] After repelling another raid late that night, they followed Kazuma's party members to the underground storage adjacent to the mysterious facility in the village, where they heard of how Kazuma, whom Sylvia had kidnapped there, trapped the Growth Chimera inside the storage silo that previously nobody was able to open, before having to flee (upside-down on their hands in the anime)[4] when a powered-up Sylvia who merged with the Mage-Killer broke out.[8]
Answering Hiropon's call for a counterattack, the vigilantes joined the other villagers blasting away at Sylvia despite their magic getting nullified before Teleporting out of harm's way, and pulled many tricks and gigs to buy time until a way to eliminate the Devil King's General was found,[8] (while in the anime they too let Wiz drain their magical power so she could empower Megumin and Yunyun's final attack)[4]. Some time afterwards, they were asked to deal with the Mecha Owl Monsters appearing around the village.[9]
The members later found themselves having Soketto's frustrations vented upon them under the pretext of "training",[10] and during the Devil King's Daughter's attack on the Royal Capital appeared to be part of the Crimson Demons force taking part in its defence.[11]
