Running Hawkites look like ostriches with white plumage on their heads and black feathers over their bodies, with only their heads and beaks bearing similarity to their ancestry.

Running Hawkites generally live on arid plains away from human settlement, but during mating season, the males will participate in a "Chicken Race", where they charge towards the hardest object they can detect before jumping over it at the last second to impress the females.
