The Succubus Cafe is a minor location within the city of Axel that is run by Succubi.
Overview[]
Although they are monsters, adventurers and succubi posses a mutual beneficial relationship in Axel. Since the male adventurers live in stables, alongside other adventurers, they can't have any interpersonal relationship there, so the succubi give men pleasant dreams in exchange of a bit of Vitality.[1]
For this reason, the succubi established a Fortune Cafe in Axel. During the day, the Cafe poses as a regular restaurant, where waitresses in lachivous outfits (the succubi outfit) will serve food.[2] However, at night, men can fill out a form detailing what kind of sexual experience they would like in their dreams. The cafe staff will send one of their own to the location given and, in a quid pro quo, take a small amount of Vitality in exchange for giving the customer the request from their form.[1]
The Cafe true nature is a secret between the men in Axel, as well is the reason why many veteran adventurers remained in Axel, as well as is the main reason why the male adventurers are so willing to protect the town.[3] It is also the reason why most adventurers don't date women in Axel.[4]
History[]
Because of the subsequent decrease of lust as a result of the establishment's popularity, the younger, single women formed a league that served to try and demystify the situation, the "The Association to Protect Women’s Chances of Marriage", and their president, Sena, decided to investigate the Cafe. Despite both the staff and Dust's efforts, Sena and Darkness (acting as an authoritative figure) found out about the truth, but were sworn to secrecy in exchange for promises of free dreams for the former and at Kazuma's request for the latter.[4]
The Cafe later found its business declining because its regular patrons were being seduced away by a Tranquility Girl growing in the city's vicinity, which prompted its staff into accompanying Dust on a journey to bring them back.[5]
During the Eris Appreciation Festival, thanks to Kazuma's skillful persuasion of the organiser committee, the Succubi were allowed to participate as stall staff wearing their signature scanty suits in order to represent the Cafe.[6]
Yet like many other businesses around Axel soon after the festival, the Cafe found itself a target of the Yatagarasu, which had been trying to pressure and harass the proprietors into hiring them for "security services". The Succubi though repeatedly stood firm in their refusal with the backing of their male adventurer patrons, before managing to defeat the criminal organisation when they attempted to carry out an attack on the establishment. The Cafe however next faced annihilation because Aqua discovered that it's a den of low-level demons, and only thanks to the valiant resistance put up by Vanir were the Succubi able to survive until Kazuma could arrive and stop the rabid goddess, following which both warring sides agreed to a truce.[7]

Trivia[]
- Its name in the anime, according to the other world's language written on the sign outside, appears to be "Dream House".[8]
- The fee for three hours of service is 5,000 eris.[1]
- Taylor is the only man in Axel who doesn't know about the Cafe.[9]
- Although the Cafe accepts dream requests filled out by somebody other than the dreamer, such dreams will accumulate rather than relieve the dreamer's desires and can lead to rash and crazy actions in real life, a feature which was exploited by the man in black robes.[10]
