Tristan (トリスタン) is the accountant of the Axis Order and Zesta's secretary.[1]
Appearance[]
Tristan is an elderly man who wears a worker's outfit carrying the symbol of the Axis Order.[2]
Personality[]
Although he serves as Zesta's right-hand man, Tristan has no loyalty to him, and is not above taking any advantage to replace Zesta as the Axis Order's new pontiff. He is also very cunning, making perverted campaign promises, which may or may not reflect his own sexual preferences, in order to get elected.
History[]
When Cecily took a hungry Megumin back to the main cathedral of the Axis Order in Arcanletia, Tristan provided them with the food, intending to declare Megumin a convert as soon as she takes a bite. His plan was thwarted, however, when Megumin pointed out his intention, forcing him to swear by Aqua that he had no such purpose.[2]
Tristan became one of the candidates campaigning to be elected as the next pontiff following Zesta's arrest, and made speeches promising polygamy, lowering of the marriage age limit, and marriage between siblings, before Megumin and Yunyun stopped him.[3]
Trivia[]
- Tristan is described to be a female priest in the light novel, who informed Zesta about the order's lagging conversion rates,[4] in addition to giving the report on Aqua turning all the city's hot springs into holy water.[5]
