Early Life

Yunyun was born into the family of Hiropon, yet despite being the daughter of the Crimson Demons' chief, the common sense she possessed set her apart from her chuunibyou kin. She thus adopted a loner personality, and spent her childhood with hardly anyone in the Crimson Demon Village noticing her existence. As such, heartbreaking occurrences like celebrating her birthday alone and crazy actions like attempting to summon Demons to be her friend were but a few of the events she had to go through.

School Days Arc

One day when Yunyun was playing out in the fields, Megumin and Komekko who were back from catching crayfishes passed by, with the elder of the sisters gifting her one of the crayfishes, and accordingly made Yunyun attracted to her. When Yunyun met Megumin again during their commencement ceremony at Red Prison, she tried approaching her for friendship, yet upon being called a stalker, had to switch to calling Megumin a rival who she has to beat.

Soon beginning her school days learning all sorts of magical knowledge, Yunyun consistently maintained the best grades in the class just behind Megumin (though during pop-up quizzes regarding the traditions of the Crimson Demons, her pragmatically sensible answers always lost to Arue's ones centering on coolness), and was rewarded with many vials of skill-up potions that quickly brought her closer to learning Advanced Magic and graduation. Yunyun also maintained a daily routine of challenging Megumin to all sorts of contests, though she won none of them and always lost her lunch that she wagered. In addition, during body examination sessions where Megumin got jealous at all the other girls possessing better developed bodies than her, Yunyun's well-developed breasts became a frequent target for her to take out frustrations on. Physical education lessons were another tough challenge for Yunyun, in the sense that she regularly couldn't find another classmate to make teams with, and had to pair up with her teacher Pucchin instead.

At school after classes ended on a hot summer day, Yunyun in vain tried to join her classmates' discussion regarding curses with a book for making friends through cursing, when Pucchin came telling that classes would be postponed for an hour tomorrow because the villagers planned to make it snow overnight for lowering the temperature, following which she worried about snowdrifts impeding Megumin's short body and had her hair pulled as a result. Yunyun on the next morning headed for Megumin's home, where as expected Megumin was busy playing in the snow and forgot about school, though upon arriving at the schoolyard, she joined Funifura, Dodonko, and Arue in targeting Megumin with snowballs, before enjoying the shaved ice sold to them by Nerimaki and attending classes an hour late.

When summer vacation came early, Yunyun hoping to have fun with friends completed all her summer homework on the first night, although pretending to be on patrol around the village the next day didn't land her with anybody to accompany her. In order to pass the time, on the days the villagers fighting against the Great Spirit of the Summer gained the upper hand and let snow accumulate, Yunyun would go around building snowmen, the design of which over time increased in mastery. Five days before summer vacation ended, Yunyun was shocked when Megumin kicked one of her snowmen apart, though she was subsequently placated when Megumin spent the whole ensuing day building snowmen with her.

She next became elated when on the last day of summer vacation, Megumin and four other classmates came asking for help with their unfinished summer homework, so she happily offered to let them copy hers. When they completed the copying by nightfall, Yunyun brought them to Demon's Hill for viewing stars, yet ended up seeing the fireworks under a cloudy sky courtesy of the villagers battling against the Great Spirit of the Summer. The girls soon witnessed somebody summoning a shooting star, so in accordance with Dodonko's belief about wishing upon a star, Yunyun made a wish for making friends.

After school restarted, during the physical education session where Pucchin cast a spell at the rainclouds above for demonstrating how to coolly enact magic before telling the class to devise cool introduction phrases and poses in pairs, Yunyun got to team up with Arue because Megumin made up an excuse to shirk the lesson, just prior to the ensuing downpour claimed by Pucchin to be the Dark God's doing (while in the anime, she and Megumin had to help the class catch the Headmaster's tulips when they ran off once it started raining). Spending her time doing self-study at the school library after Pucchin and other adults dealt with the rain's aftermath, Yunyun studied guidebooks about making friends who are not necessarily human, which attracted teasing from Funifura before Megumin stepped in. Later dismissed early to return home in groups because the faculty discovered the seal at the Tomb of the Dark God tampered with, she treated Megumin to a meal at the village cafe, during which they discussed topics of romance.

Yunyun like the rest of the class was surprised the following morning by Megumin bringing to school the little black cat with wings who would later become Chomusuke, though her attempts at stroking the cat got rejected. She was afterwards faced with a crazed Megumin who got mad at her and other students for calling the cat "Megumin", and so participated in the ensuing round of naming suggestions, which resulted in her "strange" proposal of "Kuro" being decided as the cat's temporary name. Then following a trip to the village blacksmith, Yunyun purchased a short sword sold as a trinket.

The next day, Yunyun was challenged by Megumin to stab between the fingers of her splayed palm using her new short sword, which forced her out of conscience to concede even if it meant losing her lunch. Later revealing that she still needed 3 more skill points to learn Advanced Magic and graduate, Yunyun was surprised to hear Megumin who had better grades still needing 4 more points. Doing self-study again because Pucchin was out leading the village NEETs with hunting the aggravated monsters around the village, she was in the middle of discussion with Megumin on guidebooks for making friends with inhuman creatures, when Funifura and Dodonko stepped in asking to be her friend. Sharing lunch with Megumin anyways, Yunyun joined the other girls discussing romance topics while eating, before heading back home alongside Megumin and running into Bukkororii on the way.

Unable to bring herself to beat Megumin at arm wrestling during their next contest when her rival talked of a starving Kuro who proceeded to tickle her, Yunyun later got invited into Funifura and Dodonko's team for field training against monsters in the forest, though upon revealing that the oversized weapons Pucchin had provided the class for drama were mock ones made of wood, she instead got points deducted. Yunyun thus abandoned those wooded replicae for her short sword, then worked alongside the other students on earning experience points by dealing the fatal blow to weak monsters frozen in place by Pucchin. When presented with a frozen Lovely Rabbit, however, the monster's cute appearance made her hesitate, and she was accordingly brought to tears when Funifura and Dodonko pressured her into doing the deed until Megumin stepped in.

The girls all paused when Arue alerted them to the presence of a Servant of the Dark God nearby, then as they panickedly scattered in different directions, Yunyun ran alongside Megumin and Arue before noticing the monster headed straight for Megumin. Their escape route soon cut off by the flying Demon, Yunyun as Megumin offered up Kuro as a sacrifice stepped in between them, armed with nothing but her short sword, in an attempt to drive the monster off. Eventually rescued by Pucchin and let off early, she was asked by Funifura and Dodonko to accompany them home as well as at school the following day, much to the irritation of Megumin, who proceeded to defeat her during combat by stopping her attacks with Kuro. Yunyun anyhow accompanied Megumin back to her home, where they found Bukkororii lurking around as he tried asking them for help.
(In the anime, the girls were instead attacked by a Gargoyle, prompting a panicked Yunyun to flee alongside her teammates, Megumin's team as well as Nerimaki. They were subsequently rescued by Bukkororii after jumping over the pit he had gotten himself trapped in, though his ensuing stalker antics disgusted Yunyun so much she joined the other girls into abandoning him. Yunyun and the other girls later reached a hill overlooking the village, before witnessing it being destroyed along with the Gargoyles swarming it by the overzealous school faculty and some other villagers. As night fell on the burning ruins and the perpetrators dramatically blamed the carnage on the Dark God, Yunyun was the only one on scene who had the sense to point out how it was they who were responsible for the destruction of the village, which required an overnight effort to rebuild)

Yunyun the following morning played with Megumin a boardgame similar to chess that was gifted from her uncle, only to have Megumin flip the board pursuant to the convoluted rules, which Yunyun who was about to win found absurd. Later heading to Bukkororii home where he got violently woken up, she and Megumin were accordingly taken to the village's cafe, where the NEET asked for advice to hit on Soketto. The three of them next observed Soketto sweeping at her shop front, before heading on a One-Punch Bear hunt in hopes of harvesting its valuable liver so they can pay for Soketto to divine if she is Bukkororii's fated lover. The girls though got a fright when Bukkororii cast Light of Reflection to render himself invisible while the One-Punch Bear caught sight of and went after them, before he cut it open from behind with Light of Saber, yet the unexpected appearance of a whole sloth forced them to leave the liver behind as they fled.
(In the anime, Bukkororii surprised Yunyun when he Teleported into the school library she and her class were self-studying at, then subsequent to her and Megumin digging him out from the pile of books their classmates had buried him under, agreed to help him hit on Soketto)

Returning to Soketto's shop only to find her having gone out, the girls were sickened by Bukkororii giving a precise account of Soketto's habits discovered through stalking, but still agreed to strike a conversation with a shopping Soketto for asking her interests. Shocked at Soketto purchasing a wooden sword, Yunyun and the others tailed the fortune teller as she trained with her new weapon on falling leaves, and watched in horror as Bukkororii blew Soketto into the air with a Tornado spell that was supposed to help her. After escaping the baffled Soketto's pursuit, the girls were treated to lunch by Bukkororii, where the idea from Megumin involving Yunyun masking herself and attacking Soketto with her short sword so that Bukkororii can heroically come to the rescue was vetoed by Yunyun.

Next hearing from the cafe's owner about Soketto heading for the dangerous forest to train, the girls joined an excited Bukkororii in following the trail of One-Punch Bear corpses to locate her, only to look in horror when Bukkororii's Inferno spell aimed at the attacking One-Punch Bears also caught Soketto in the blaze, before directing the enraged Soketto into beating Bukkororii up. Later expressing pity at the NEET when Soketto couldn't see anyone becoming Bukkororii's lover, Yunyun on the way back discussed with Megumin the topic of their future lovers.

At some point during the period, Yunyun on a day without school went around the village, where she pretended to go find a friend when a dating couple sat next to her on a bench, acted as if she was socialising when eating at a busy restaurant all alone, agreed to help practise embarrassing poses when petitioned by Nerimaki, fed fish to a cat in hopes it would become her friend, before approached by Funifura and Dodonko on their way to badminton, at which Arue and Megumin also popped out so the four of them could play with the hesitant Yunyun.

In order to match Megumin's progress so she doesn't have to graduate earlier than her, Yunyun purposefully scored badly on her next test so she wouldn't receive skill-up potions several days later, before keeping Megumin off her back by offering lunch upon arriving at school. She was later pressured by Funifura and Dodonko to give them money for medicine needed by Funifura's ailing brother, thus worriedly discussed with Megumin if she should oblige with her friends' request, then heard Bukkororii come talking about the new band of vigilantes he had set up as well as the tourist attractions where dangerous things were sealed much to her disbelief.

Yunyun chose to hand money to Funifura and Dodonko on the way to school the following day, and later discovered to her shock that the Kuro riding in Megumin's bag had been shaken limp. With the first lesson being the creation of magic items, she frantically brewed a potion for restoring health to Kuro. Subsequently seeing Megumin reaching out towards a Duxion for her next potion ingredient, Yunyun adamantly stopped her from laying hands on the cute monster. The situation was diffused when Arue came to cut up the Duxion's onion which was needed for the potion, so the relieved Yunyun muttered about Duxion's high experience points as well as culinary value, only to be traumatised by Megumin abruptly snapping its neck.

Waiting with Kuro at the school gate after classes, Yunyun was surprised when Megumin returned with the money she had given to Funifura, which Megumin had retrieved in exchange for the medicine she brewed, so she gratefully offered to treat her to a meal, only for Megumin to eat all the money away (at Torosuke's cafe in the anime). Letting Megumin rest at a lakeside park before heading home, she became shocked to learn that Megumin already had more than enough skill points to graduate through learning Advanced Magic, and was simply accumulating points for learning Explosion Magic. Incensed by her efforts at purposefully refraining from gathering skill points being all for nothing as well as the stupidity of learning the joke spell, Yunyun beat Megumin up before the latter made excuses for her loss. She afterwards heard Megumin explain how she became infatuated by Explosion Magic when a passing wizard saved her with that spell during her infancy in addition to her plans to work in the village post-graduation, though just as Yunyun talked about her goal of becoming a powerful wizard for protecting the village she would one day rule over, Megumin killed a passing wild Duxion and spurred Yunyun into attacking her again, though this time it was Megumin who won.

As the girls headed to Megumin's home while dusk fell, they were alerted to the Servants of the Dark God overrunning the village, so Megumin invited Yunyun to her home for sheltering while the villagers fought the Demons, much to Yunyun's delight. Yet upon arrival, they discovered one of the monsters rummaging inside, at which Megumin pushed Yunyun forward to stab the monster as a distraction before finishing it off herself. While Yunyun tried to stop Megumin from going outside to look for the missing Komekko, they found another Demon taking Kuro away. Shocked when Megumin threw her short sword at the monster only to miss before preparing to abandon the cat, Yunyun followed her towards the Tomb of the Dark God, where from the cover of bushes they indeed spied Komekko squaring off against the Demons who had captured Kuro. She next heard Megumin pondering to abandon Explosion Magic for learning Advanced Magic so she can defeat the monsters surrounding Komekko, thus deciding to preserve Megumin's dream, Yunyun chose to suffer the stigma of learning Intermediate Magic, which also doomed her into losing access to skill-up potions from school through graduating.

Casting intermediate spells at the Demons to cover Megumin and Komekko's escape, Yunyun despite getting fatigued from the monsters' reinforcements still managed to rescue Kuro. She then became exasperated when the sisters came back, though also took the opportunity to brag at Megumin. Finally collapsing from exhaustion, Yunyun was dragged away by the sisters when the whole Demon horde was herded to their position by the villagers who planned to take them all out in one powerful barrage, yet despite their furtiveness the Demons still managed to pinpoint the girls' location. Yunyun was next shocked when Megumin began laughing dementedly before learning Explosion Magic, and alongside Komekko became stunned by the Explosion she unleashed to annihilate all of the Demons gathered in the sky above them, following which the limp girls were rescued by approaching villagers.

Keeping what happened a secret to all villagers except for Pucchin, Yunyun later told Megumin of the goddess without a name being released by her Explosion, though thankfully the village thought that it was a result of the clash between the nameless goddess and the Dark God. As the two of them graduated from school because of having learned magic, upon Megumin deciding to make Kuro her familiar, Yunyun tried to advise giving the female cat a cute name, yet it did not prevent Megumin from renaming her "Chomusuke".

Journey to Axel Arc

Joining Bukkororii's vigilante band "Red-Eye Dead Slayer", despite finding its naming embarrassing, in order to level up and be in the company of others subsequent to graduation, Yunyun became enraged when they had to go manhunting in the mountains every night because somebody was casting nightly Explosions at the outskirts of the village. She thus marched up to Megumin's home early one morning to interrogate the sole suspect, who after attempting to deflect the deed onto the Devil King's Army, admitted to have cast the Explosions before having Komekko drag her limp form back home as a way to relieve her stress from failing to find work. Yunyun was accordingly horrified to hear Megumin speak of her plan to accept the proposal from the potion shop's owner which entails selling out her body, and after visualising all sorts of lewd situations, made to burn down the potion shop, only to hear in embarrassment that Megumin was simply talking about a job for test-drinking potions.

She proceeded to take Megumin around looking for lower-paying mundane jobs, yet their first attempt at working in a restaurant was cut short after Megumin blew up at Funifura and Dodonko when they taunted her as customers. They next worked as harvesters for crops raised by farmers through magic, but Yunyun kept getting targeted by potatoes for meagre pay. She anyhow agreed to accompany Megumin on a trip deep into the forest, which turned out to be one for casting an Explosion. With some napping Fire Drakes woken up by it, Yunyun had to freeze the fired-up reptiles while carrying the limp Megumin to safely, then subsequent to being found by the patrolling Bukkororii, was rendered speechless as Megumin told a blatant lie about them fighting against a voluptuous female Demon who was the Explosion culprit. Trying to keep a straight face as they saw the deceived Bukkororii off, the pair returned to Megumin's home where Yunyun unloaded Megumin and promised to return in the morning for more work.

Yunyun became shocked the following morning when Megumin told her of a woman leaving behind 300 thousand eris during the night in exchange for Chomusuke, whom she would be picking up soon. Expressing suspicion at Arnes as she accordingly appeared to collect the cat she called "Wolbach", Yunyun was pressured to hand Chomusuke over, but instinctively cast a Fireball after Arnes was unmasked to be a Demon, which as a result attracted the attention of Bukkororii and his vigilantes, who thinking Arnes as the Explosion culprit chased her off with a magical barrage.
(In the anime, Yunyun and Megumin out of pity served Arnes tea after she was unmasked as a Demon and fainted from recalling the trauma of all the betrayals by the scummy men attracted by a magic bracelet on her arm, right before Bukkororii and other scummy village men attracted by the bracelet discovered and chased the Demon off)

With Megumin deciding to keep the money left behind by Arnes for Teleportation on the following day, Yunyun uncharacteristically invited Arue, Funifura, and Dodonko to her home, where the four of them threw a farewell party for Megumin. As parting gifts were given to Megumin, in order to replace the worn school uniform Megumin had been wearing since graduation, Yunyun presented her with a set of red wizard robes. Accompanying Megumin on her way home following the party, she heard her speak about her goal of eventually defeating the Devil King and replacing him, as well as letting the neighbours take care of Komekko and taking Chomusuke on her journey (though in the anime she decided to go alone). Unable even until they parted to express her yearning for going with Megumin, Yunyun didn't join her other classmates when they saw Megumin off at the Teleportation station early next morning.

Successfully getting permission from her parents, Yunyun also followed Megumin to Arcanletia, where for a week she secretly fed Chomusuke, (while it was Yunyun herself who brought the cat along in the anime) though she also agreed to Soketto's request of delivering a letter to the police in Arcanletia. While walking the streets afterwards, Yunyun was unpleasantly surprised by Megumin feigning tripping over in front of her to await aid, thus subsequent to calling her kin out, she shook up Megumin (or rolled her down the street in the anime). Later interrogating her and Zesta, Yunyun became shocked at the pontiff of the Axis Order claiming that he and Megumin were more than friends. They all accordingly followed Zesta back to the main cathedral, where his arrest by a female knight accusing him of collaborating with the Devil King's Army based on Soketto's prophesy and anomalies occurring throughout the city's hot springs stunned her, so under Megumin's pressuring Yunyun was forced to own up about delivering Sokketo's letter.

Told by Megumin on the next morning not to fret over having delivered Soketto's letter, down at the cathedral's dining hall Yunyun was surprised to find only Cecily eating breakfast, since the other followers had gone out vying for votes to become the next pontiff, something the Priest hired the Crimson Demons to help her with later on. Running back to assist Cecily despite initially lashing out and running off in disgust, Yunyun was further appalled when the Priest betted on Zesta being guilty, in addition to witnessing another follower bribing for votes using Cecily's panties, the owner of which got upset because the votes weren't for her. Yunyun continued to help obstruct additional crazy campaign activities by Tristan and other followers that were causing widespread disturbances, before taking a break with Megumin, during which Cecily treated them to Gelatinous Slime.

Finally going to investigate the inns, the trio were astonished to learn that the hot springs water from the taps had turned into Gelatinous Slime, something Yunyun and Megumin had to stop Cecily from drinking. Next heading to the distribution systems which channeled the hot springs water from its source in the mountains all over the city, they discovered the same thing happening with the water there too, courtesy of Zesta on the previous night pouring into the system a sack of Gelatinous Slime powder that was later recovered by some policemen. As the three girls made their way back in the afternoon, during which Yunyun pointed out the pontiff's possible execution to Megumin and Cecily's shock, they became surprised to see a cocky Zesta being released from the police station because he was proven during interrogation to be innocent of conspiring treason, so Yunyun was accordingly handed an unwanted bribe of Gelatinous Slime powder by Cecily for keeping her earlier attitude a secret.

Walking back as they wondered who was behind the hot springs' anomalies, Yunyun was stunned to see Arnes threateningly approach the group demanding Chomusuke, and became worried at Zesta agitating the Demon. She was next dumbfounded by the normally-shoddy Zesta easily Reflecting Arnes' Fireball before casting Exorcism Magic powerful enough to purify her, and could only watch while he and Cecily led other Axis followers into fanatically hunting after the fleeing Arnes.

As they waited for things to die down, Yunyun had to repeatedly change her mind on when to head for Axel because Megumin kept changing hers, and subsequent to the returning Zesta gifting Megumin with the carriage fare, got ganged up on by both of them as they repeatedly alternated Megumin's departure plans, until Yunyun in rage zapped Zesta unconscious with Lightning. On the following morning, Yunyun accompanied Megumin and Chomusuke to the carriage terminal, where the spiteful Zesta refused to give her a Blessing unlike with Megumin, before the caravan they boarded set out.

Distraught at Megumin hogging the windowside seat, Yunyun became bashful when a little girl travelling with her mother in the same carriage struck a conversation with them. Later as the caravan stopped for a break on a grassland along the highway between Arcanletia and Axel, Yunyun tried advising Megumin against uttering flag lines, before the two Crimson Demons were asked by adventures guarding the caravan to help against an attack by a clew of Giant Earthworms, prompting Yunyun to singlehandedly take out most of the disgusting monsters with Fireballs in order to stop Megumin from casting Explosion in panic. She accordingly became the centre of attraction as the caravan continued on its way, before noticing a shadow of something fluttering outside the carriages.

That night when the caravan made camp, Yunyun treated like a star by the other people in the caravan sought a moment alone with Megumin by the campfire, but just before she could ask her for adventuring together after reaching Axel, Chomusuke was suddenly captured by Giant Bats, which Yunyun had to defeat so that the cat could be rescued, earning her more praise from the other adventurers despite being tired out. During the caravan trip on the next day, once again Yunyun was called to action when Goblins attacked, leaving her and other adventurers exhausted, only to have Arnes herself assault the caravan.

Unable to fight after using up her magical powers against the hordes of monsters the Demon had driven their way, Yunyun could only watch Arnes beat up the other adventurers and use the whole caravan as hostage for retrieving Chomusuke, though she still stood up in defence of Megumin, whom Arnes called a fake Crimson Demon for not casting spells. She was next horrified when Megumin threw Chomusuke into the air before preparing to blow her up alongside Arnes when the Demon swooped in to catch the cat, prompting her to hold Megumin back from casting Explosion while Arnes prepared to obliterate them all with a powerful Cursed Lightning.

The despaired Yunyun proceeded to pray for divine intervention from a pantheon of goddesses including the Dark God, Eris, the unnamed goddess and even Aqua, following which something godly from the direction of Axel distracted Arnes. With Chomusuke breaking free during the distraction, Yunyun caught the cat when she fell down, giving Megumin the chance to obliterate Arnes with an Explosion.

As Megumin became the star of the caravan during the remainder of the trip, a backtracking Yunyun made up her mind not to party with Megumin but instead learn Advanced Magic in order to surpass her. After the Crimson Demons wondered what had distracted Arnes, Yunyun fell asleep while the caravan rolled into the streets of Axel.

Irregular of Axel Arc

Woken for her sleep at the inn rented for the Crimson Demons by the grateful caravan leader when Kazuma and Aqua argued over them having to sleep in stables, Yunyun went to eat with Megumin as they discussed plans for becoming adventurers. She was taken early the following morning by Megumin to the Adventurer Guild, and turned embarrassed upon her kin attempting to make a pompous introduction to a hall that turned out to be empty of adventurers.

Yunyun proceeded to have her Adventurer Card verified by Luna first for the adventurer registration because Megumin wanted to do hers later on, but the loner's bashfulness at asking to join parties got her ignored by other adventurers, so she posted a lengthy advertisement asking for friendly front-liner party members of her age who would accompany her on conversations even when there are no quests. Yet because she kept glaring with glowing eyes at adventurers who read her advertisement, potential recruits kept getting spooked away until a Guild employee told her to stop doing that. Yunyun was afterwards approached by a middle-aged man claiming to be a Crusader of her age, whom she despite being treated to lunch rejected. Spending the rest of her day alone before Megumin returned, Yunyun recounted her day's events, and was hurriedly advised by a horrified Megumin into writing another party recruitment advertisement.

Yunyun accordingly dropped the class and age requirements in her new recruitment advertisement, and played boardgames by herself while waiting for responses. She later overheard Mitsurugi talk of wanting to recruit a mage, prompting her into approaching to volunteer herself, only for Cremea and Fio to scare her away with hostile stares. Next approached by a priestess of the Axis Order, Yunyun despite having misgivings because of her experiences in Arcanletia, still disclosed her woes of being unable to find a party. She was accordingly handed an Axis conversion form by the priestess who promised salvation once she joins the order, prompting Yunyun to excitedly yell out her willingness to convert and make friends, yet her enthusiasm instead scared away the priestess. Eventually an elderly man who wasn't even an adventurer came to strike a conversation, so Yunyun eagerly implored him for wisdom on how to find party members while he drank himself drunk, and became agitated upon him suggesting seduction, before she followed his advice to post an advertisement offering to pay people into becoming her friends, though it ended up rejected. Feeling somebody else approach while subsequently playing by herself, Yunyun became disappointed to find that it was Megumin, so over their boardgame match the two of them exchanged tidings of how they failed to secure a party, before Yunyun prepared to win the match only to have Megumin flip the board.

A week passed without anybody willing to invite Yunyun into their party, and one day Megumin sent Chomusuke to topple a house of cards she had meticulously stacked up much to her dismay. Proceeding to tell Megumin about a Demon sighted in the forest driving monsters closer to the city, Yunyun was interrupted by Dust picking a fight with Mitsurugi, something she was told to ignore by Megumin, who she then had to stop from going to witness Mitsurugi beating up Dust.

Several days later, Yunyun was approached by another older man who begged for her to pose as his girlfriend for showing to his ailing mother, and despite his pleas morphing into going on a date with him, she became pressured to accept until Megumin stepped in to chase the man off. After talking about the other people who approached her, Yunyun became enraged when Megumin suggested that the both of them should team up for the time being, since it ruined her earlier conviction over not adventuring alongside Megumin, and prompted her to angrily tussle with Megumin until both of them got kicked out of the Guild by Luna. On their way back to the inn, they were approached by Hagen who asked for help to locate the runaway heiress of the Dustiness noble household, a job which Yunyun followed the impoverished Megumin on taking though to no avail.

Yunyun on the next day took Megumin on a quest against Giant Toads for the sake of safety, yet after taking out some of the amphibians on the grasslands, she got persuaded by Megumin through promises of being recruited into heading inside the forest where the Demon lurked. Eventually encountering a cute Lovely Rabbit, Yunyun ignored Megumin's warnings and attempted to feed it, only to witness its companions having killed and devoured a wolf, before the whole colony of monsters leapt at the Crimson Demons in hopes of impaling them. Managing to fight them off, she and Megumin were about to head back when the Lovely Rabbits were driven towards them in numbers that she couldn't handle, with Megumin consequently shocking her by casting an Explosion at close range, which took out all the monsters but also blew them unconscious.

She woke up to find Host asking if they had seen a big black beast, at which Yunyun disregarded the Crimson Demon style introduction he made, and instead fled in terror alongside Megumin. Returning to the Guild at dusk all traumatised, they collected the rewards for the Giant Toads as well as reported about the Demon, then headed to the inn subsequent to Luna declaring the forest off-limits. Noticing on the way back how Megumin seemed to be interested in Kazuma and Aqua who were working as construction labourers, Yunyun later heard of Chomusuke being starved unto unconsciousness in Megumin's room.

At some point during the period, she and Megumin were exploring around the city when they heard some passersby whisper glorious praises about their tribe, and delightedly bought some magic items from a nearby stall owner who heaped more flattery upon them, only to turn aggressively violent after overhearing the stall owner and the passersby gloat over how they conspired to con the Crimson Demons into buying fake junk at high prices.

When the Guild assembled a hunting squadron against Host after a week had passed, Yunyun who witnessed Wiz handing out free potions to the participating adventurers expressed her misgivings about the whole affair to Megumin, but was talked into tagging along by promises of being recruited afterwards. Next grabbing onto Megumin from behind in fear of her losing control because Rex mocked the Crimson Demons as "little girls", she instead had her big breasts torn at by the riled-up Megumin.

Yunyun later joined Megumin and Rex's party in the sternguard when the squadron ventured through the forest, and subsequent to zapping a Slime dropping onto Sophie with Lightning, got coerced by Megumin into burning away the rest of the swarm attacking the adventurers with a Fireball, which impressed Rex and his party. She and the other adventurers accordingly withdrew in a panicked retreat when the vanguard came running back bawling about Host defeating them and Mitsurugi with powers akin to the Devil King's Generals, then following Luna's report about no reinforcements arriving and the existence of a blue-haired Arch Priest in the city during the after-action assembly at the Guild, Yunyun decided to remain there in hopes that somebody will invite her into their party.

Brought to tears when nobody approached her despite waiting at the Guild until Megumin rendezvoused with her the next day, Yunyun was invited by Rex to help capture a Beginner's Bane that was seen in the nearby mountains for serving as a bargaining chip with Host. With Megumin tagging along, she and Rex's party eliminated a tribe of Goblins to draw out the Beginner's Bane lurking about, which Terry held back for Yunyun to put to Sleep so it could be caged, though Rex's subsequent invitation for joining them caught her wrong-footed. She was next shocked when Host suddenly appeared and instantly defeated Rex's party, then following an unsuccessful attempt to slip away with Megumin, heard of Host demanding them hand over Chomusuke on the next day in exchange for the safety of the city's people. Later as she and Megumin brought the unconscious forms of Rex and his party back, Yunyun in despair started contemplating the option of fleeing.

Dropping off Rex's party at the city's Eris church, she bickered with Megumin regarding Host's deal and her lonerness, before informing the Guild of the bleak news which sent them into despair. Despite fears of Megumin intending to hand over Chomusuke, Yunyun anyhow agreed to assist Megumin's crazy goal of defeating Host when their friendship was brought up. She next mistook Megumin to have prostituted herself after the latter emerged from their inn with 10 million eris, which Yunyun was accordingly given for purchasing magic items useful for their upcoming battle in addition to a black stuffed toy cat.

Yunyun thus ran to various magic item shops including Wiz's Shop for purchasing the needed magic items that were actually produced in the Crimson Demon Village, and subsequent to taking them along with the stuffed cat to Megumin, was told of her plan to leave Chomusuke's scent onto the stuffed toy for luring Host out while she laid in ambush closeby using a Scroll of Concealment in order to destroy him through an Explosion. Although Yunyun realised how Megumin's plan wouldn't work because the preparation of Explosion would reveal her location, she became impressed by Megumin refusing to flee for other cities, unlike what she would have done a year ago.

As Megumin headed off to bed, Yunyun went to the Guild where she found Rex's party all healed up, so mustering her greatest courage, she asked for them to join her on a rematch against Host. Next she Unlocked Megumin's inn room door to find her asleep, thus Yunyun began recounting how amazing she found Megumin's courage against Host was, in addition to what she thought of her friend's other stupid antics and incredible feats, before putting Megumin to Sleep so that she wouldn't go ahead with her doomed plan.

Yunyun on the following day placed the stuffed toy cat in the middle of a plain outside the city, and laid in ambush alongside Rex's party until Host arrived, at which they sprung the trap to attack the Demon. Through the support provided by Rex's party as well as the magic items she had brought along, Yunyun was able to cast a variety of powerful spells at Host while defending against his magic. Yet she then made the mistake of trying to blind Host with Flash, little knowing that it doesn't work on the demonkind, and ended up giving Host the chance to defeat Sophie and Terry. Yunyun therefore drank a magic potion for boosting the Paralyse spell as Rex diverted Host's attention, then after he got defeated successfully Paralysed the Demon, only to realise that the potion sold by Wiz had a side effect of rendering anyone within the effect radius, including the user, immobilised too. She consequently became dilemmaed by Host's offer of a cease fire for the day, which would be rendered meaningless once the Paralyse wears off when her magical powers are all spent.

Shocked as Megumin suddenly appeared on the scene, Yunyun moreover begged for death when her friend mockingly reiterated the embarrassing things she had said in her room the previous night. She then too collapsed from exhaustion after Megumin obliterated Host, and alongside the others got taken back to the city by Guild employees. A day later, Yunyun accompanied Megumin in bidding farewell to Cecily who went adventuring to level up, before making up her mind to travel far and wide for learning Advanced Magic. Taking Megumin outside the city gate where she declared her intent, Yunyun was promised as they parted ways another contest once she returns.

Beginner Adventurer Arc

Two weeks into her journey where she still didn't find any party members in the two towns she visited, Yunyun during the carriage trip tried convincing herself to give up and instead level up solo for surpassing Megumin. She was next given a biscuit by Wolbach who shared the carriage and struck a conversation with her, so the depressed Yunyun told her of what happened ever since she left her village and travelled to Axel, then declined the mourning Wolbach's offer to take a trip towards Arcanletia where the Axis Order dwells. After her recounting of the incident with the Gelatinous Slime in the hot springs strangely got Wolbach agitated, the two of them parted ways, before Yunyun remembered that she forgot to ask for Wolbach's name.

Late Winter Arc

Returning to Axel after learning Advanced Magic, Yunyun demonstrated it outside the city by casting Light of Saber and Energy Ignition to annihilate the Giant Toad swallowing Megumin as well as the ones attacking the nearby Kazuma, Aqua, and Sena. She was then forced into making a Crimson Demon style introduction when Megumin initially pretended not to know her, before talking the spent Megumin into a contest despite being stunned by the revelation of her Explosions vanquishing Beldia and the Destroyer. Originally confident at winning the combat contest Megumin had suggested, which she took out a piece of high-quality manatite as wager for, Yunyun soon admitted defeat when her rival came at her all stinky and slimy, though she still ended up having the slime spread onto her, and accordingly ran off in tears.

Yunyun wandered the city streets the next day, where she timidly bought some kebabs, and uneasily waited at a shooting stall for dating couples to finish playing before challenging it herself, though her arrows didn't hit the stuffed toy Winter Shogun she had wanted, and was instead gifted it by Kazuma who shot the toy in her place. They soon met again at another stall where the owner offered a monetary prize for anybody who can break a lump of adamantite, then following the appearance of Megumin, Yunyun trailed behind her and Kazuma as they strolled around. Later as they headed outside the city, Yunyun challenged Megumin to a contest of adultness judged by body development, only to hear Megumin proclaim herself leading in adultness because she had already bathed with Kazuma, which drove Yunyun away in tears again.

(In the anime, having discerned how Megumin was frequenting Wiz's Shop, Yunyun made it a habit to constantly lay in wait there in hopes of running into her "by coincidence". Managing to meet Megumin one day when she arrived with her companions, upon Aqua discovering a Friendship Crystal on sale, Yunyun hoping it would make her friendlier with Megumin asked to have them test it out together. Yet to her horror, the magic item actually showed images of all their past embarrassing moments, and ended with Megumin breaking the crystal which Yunyun was given the bill for, before Yunyun was beaten by her in adultness)

Yunyun in the anime timeline secretly trailed Megumin when she escorted her companions to Keele's Dungeon, and upon watching Megumin seemingly playing by herself outside the entrance to pass the time, also started playing all sorts of one-person games she had became an expert on in a challenge covertly made to Megumin who was none the wiser, before the loner burst into tears. She later went out with Megumin again for discussing how to help Kazuma prove his innocence in his treason case (a possible time interval for Kazuma to have put on a wish-granting choker from Wiz's Shop that slowly chokes him to death unless his wish is granted, and forced Yunyun to compete in strip rock-paper-scissors against Megumin as well as other debasing things he requested, only to kill him after being enraged by his confession), and was also present at the Guild when Sena declared his charges dismissed.

On one lonely day when she read books by herself at the library, Yunyun was suddenly approached by Megumin who brought Kazuma and Lolierina along. Initially thinking that Megumin had been casting random Explosions again, just like back in the Crimson Demon Village, when told of them investigating a recent string of explosions around Axel, she was instead accused by Megumin as the culprit who was attempting to frame her rival. Unable to provide an alibi, the loner was taken back to the police station by Lolierina for questioning, though the magic bell used for detecting lies eventually proved her innocence.

As Yunyun wandered the city's streets one day, she was hit upon by two men whom to their surprise she made to accept, only to have Dust come out of hiding to chase them off before hitting on her himself. Next shocked at the appearance of Vanir, she let down her hostility as the Archdemon explained how he was now simply an employee at Wiz's Shop, before turning exasperated at Dust who admitted setting up a heroic rescue for hitting on her. Yunyun anyways accepted Vanir and Dust's offer to help her find friends, though them annoying the waitresses during their initial discussion at a restaurant embarrassed her. Next set up to be the first customer of Vanir's new consultation service at the Guild, Yunyun outright rejected the All-Seeing Demon's suggestion for her and Dust to become friends, especially when he began calling her a kid. She next followed Dust to his party's inn where she was introduced to Rin, yet the Wizard outright refused to become her friend. Running off in tears, Yunyun later found Rin chasing after her and agreeing to become her friend, though the loner barely had time to be overjoyed before Vanir dropped his shapeshifted form. After calming down from her enraged disappointment, she heard from Vanir how Rin had refused friendship in order to protect her from Dust, and so accepted having Vanir become her friend.

While browsing for romance novels in a bookstore on some other day, Yunyun was dragged off by Dust to secretly trail behind Darkness and Chris as they went on a quest against Goblins. After the quest's completion, she heard Darkness blurt out to Chris about the kind of poor and scummy men that she prefers, before realising how Dust fitted all of the descriptions. A couple of days later, the excited Yunyun called Dust and Vanir out to a restaurant for discussing how to pair the delinquent and the heiress together, though not only did her ideas of romance moves differ greatly from what the other two had in mind, but their antics towards the staff embarrassed her so much they had to change the meeting location, though the ensuing discussion at a general store constantly pestered by Dust didn't come up with any results. Some days afterwards when the trio wandered into some alleyways as their efforts had gone nowhere, they were alerted to a woman screaming, which turned out to be Darkness excitedly getting cornered by some masked men aiming to kidnap her. Following Dust's directions of not interfering, the anticipating Yunyun along with Vanir peeked from the side at him jumping out to play hero, until reinforcements of the kidnappers arrived. Realising that Dust would not be able to beat them, the observing pair enacted a plan to scare away the kidnappers by pretending that police were approaching. Yunyun next asked Darkness to date Dust, then subsequent to Darkness turning the offer down, joined her in giving Dust advice for becoming popular with women, only to be irately called a loner without practical knowledge on romance, which saw her going after Dust in rage.

Early Spring Arc

Yunyun was glad when Megumin went to stay at her inn for a couple of days, then on the day after she went back to her party's mansion, Yunyun went paying a visit there with gifts in tow, only to find the mansion empty of its residents, and faced the same situation when paying a visit with more gifts on the following day.

Plagued by loneliness, Yunyun went looking for Megumin at Wiz's Shop, though Vanir who stayed behind during Wiz's absence played a trick on her while she sat in the kotatsu using a tangerine that's all peel. Yunyun anyhow returned there to stack a house of cards, and listened to Dust, who just got released from jail, rant about how his party members went questing with a temporary member hired to accompany them during his fortnight of incarceration, before Vanir shocked her by slamming a crate of faulty magical portable toilets onto her table and toppling the house of cards. She eventually met Megumin as her party returned home from their vacation at Arcanletia, and promptly show them a cartload of gifts in addition to challenging Megumin on another contest. When Darkness some time afterwards held a party at the mansion for celebrating the defeat of Hans, Yunyun gladly accepted the invitation despite Megumin chiding her for not even having participated in that battle. The loner anyhow suggested for holding a girls' pajama party that she had always wanted to participate in, then as Kazuma tried barging into Megumin's room where it was held, expressed disbelief towards his claim over him having a lot of fans at the Guild.

At some point during the period, she accompanied Megumin on her daily routine to a grove now blown full of craters that the critical Yunyun had to fill up, then challenging her rival again back in Axel taunted Megumin for her small chest only to be attacked, before losing badly in the ensuing eating contest, and lonesomely observed Megumin fooling around for the rest of the day.

When storm season approached, Yunyun suddenly found herself depended on by the Guild staff and other adventurers for fighting off the Great Spirit of the Storm. Dressed in the traditional water-resistant suits of the Crimson Demons, she and Megumin gathered with other adventurers at the lake where the spirit manifested. After swimming into the lake for adding to the barrage of magic spells cast at the spirit, Yunyun had to swim back to shore alongside the other adventurers because Aqua agitated the Great Spirit of the Storm and made it churn up the waters. Subsequent to Kazuma dragging Aqua back, Yunyun under his instructions unleashed a Lightning Strike on the Great Spirit of the Storm as part of the combination attacks to pacify its temper.

Possibly around that time period, Yunyun while out questing saved some rookie adventurers from a Beginner's Bane, earning her lots of gratitude from them once returning to Axel, only to hear Megumin fib about defeating many of those felines in her youth as well as vanquishing an even more powerful monster during her daily routine alongside Kazuma, so Yunyun began attempting to snatch the Adventurer Card containing the kill record of Megumin who taunted her over claiming to have made friends.

Cursed Ring Arc

Constantly paying visits to Wiz's Shop, Yunyun became surprised when at long last Megumin followed Kazuma there, though instead of accepting her challenge, her rival being spent for the day irately smacked her breasts, following which she heard from Wiz about a ring picked up by Kazuma possessing some effect that she couldn't ascertain. Yunyun was accordingly invited by Megumin to the party's mansion on the following day for a meeting, which Wiz and Chris also attended, to discuss that cursed ring, since it not only became stuck onto Kazuma's finger but also made him Steal panties, before agreeing to help him earn the fee charged by Vanir for getting the ring off.

After Kazuma still Stole a panty despite all the girls staying somewhere else for the night, Yunyun was persuaded by Megumin to comply with Kazuma's idea of earning Vanir's curse removal fee through working at his maid café dressed up as a maid server, where her clumsiness attracted the customers' protectiveness, though circumstances soon forced it to close.

When the Guild held a Sports Festival that offers a stupendous prize enough to pay the fee, Yunyun accepted the invitation from Kazuma's party to be part of their team. She consequently joined the team's swimming training at the riverhead lake and later at the Sports Festival itself, though the subsequent discovery of Brutal Alligator hatchlings in the lake snapping at the competitors' swimsuits ended up getting the festival cancelled.

Following a discussion during breakfast among the girls over what to do about Kazuma after he Stole panties again, where Yunyun advised throwing him into a volcano, she in response to him suggesting selling light novels proposed writing about a friendless wizard girl making a lot of friends, which spurred Kazuma into scrapping the project. With Kazuma settling for making money through starting a singer idol unit, Yunyun following idol training was assigned the role of Wiz's younger sister in the unit named "Shiny Blue", though it was soon forced to disband due to circumstances.

After Kazuma took a quest to seek stolen antiques in a cave used by thieves as a hideout, Yunyun along with Chris instead reluctantly accompanied him because his party members declined to follow. Following a picnic by the lake, the girls ran into moments of distress when they got caught in a hunting net trap while trekking through the forest, and also inside the cave where they had to crawl through a narrow passageway, which turned out to have a trapdoor that dropped them into a deeper part of the cave system. Successfully defeating a horde of attacking monsters, Yunyun followed the other two seeking another way out of the cave, only to be shocked when the trio later found a Skull Dragon sleeping close to the exit. Subsequent to them running into Aqua who trailed Kazuma alongside Megumin, Darkness, and Wiz, Yunyun joined the others as they tried to sneak past the Skull Dragon. Upon it being woken by the ring, she with Wiz's help managed to hold the Undead monstrosity back, giving the party enough time to drive it off and make their escape.

Discussing with Chris the idea of infiltrating Kazuma's mansion for retrieving the panties he had Stolen that month until the man in question walked in on them, Yunyun agreed to help earn the fee through working odd jobs. Several days later when the Skull Dragon was seen making its way towards Axel and had a bounty put onto it, Kazuma having heard from Vanir of its origins assigned Yunyun to hold the Skull Dragon in place with Light of Saber so that the ensuing Explosions could target it. Subsequent to the ensuing deal made with the mage's soul in the Skull Dragon by offering up the Stolen panties and its purification by Aqua, the consequently enraged Yunyun took part in the beating that sent Kazuma to Eris and forced Aqua to Resurrect him again.

Following the series of possible rewards and penalties for Kazuma depending on his performance in the "Panty Judgments", Yunyun might finally meet Megumin at Wiz's Shop when she accompanied her party there, and despite her rival pretending not to know her, with Kazuma's help Yunyun's challenge was accepted. Going ahead with Aqua's suggestion of a fishing contest, she envied the water fight the others had before going on to seriously compete with Megumin, but the big fish biting on her line dragged both her and Megumin into the water, where another fish slipped between her breasts and aggravated her rival with the sight. Not minding Kazuma and Darkness later declaring the contest a draw, Yunyun was further overjoyed when Kazuma invited her to their mansion for roasting the fish and sleeping over, allowing the social dining skills she had practised be put to good use, though her lonesome past then got brought up by Megumin. Yunyun hoping to observe Megumin closer thus asked for Kazuma's permission late that night for permission to stay at the party's mansion, something the party including Megumin eventually agreed to. When accompanying Megumin's Explosion with Kazuma subsequent to completing housework a few days afterwards, Yunyun after being surprised by him piggybacking Megumin dispatched a surfacing Giant Toad, and diligently picked up the mess Aqua left around the mansion. The ensuing week saw Yunyun working like Aqua's maid until she expressed her desire for an adventure, before performing excellently on a quest accepted by Megumin and Darkness against flying Salad even though she got put off by Darkness' masochism, prompting Aqua and Darkness to invite her into the party despite Megumin's protests. Yunyun later participated in a three-round contest against Megumin, and won the first round suggested by Aqua that involved selling croquettes despite her shyness because of Megumin's bad reputation, as well as the second round involving striking Darkness down with magic thanks to Megumin refusing to indulge the Crusader. In the two-pointer final contest decided by Kazuma, which involved taking care of Aqua, Yunyun went ahead to spoil the dissolute goddess through sheer pampering, only to concede defeat when Megumin during her turn instead forced and persuaded Aqua to work on quests like a useful person. Yunyun consequently left the mansion for more training, and later on either let her bento be lost to Megumin in another contest, or went to dinner at the mansion to Megumin's delight.

Magical Stones Arc

Catching wind one day about Megumin and her party heading out towards to neighbourhood ruins, Yunyun beat them on the way there where she hid behind a bush in wait, despite passersby giving her strange looks. She proceeded to pop out upon the party noticing her, and after making a Crimson Demon style introduction, finally had her challenge accepted by Megumin. Yet during Yunyun's turn in a fast-speaking contest, Megumin distracted her before declaring her the loser, making Yunyun run back to Axel in tears. Later as the party toasted with Chris at the Guild when she explained to them about the Devil-Sealing Magical Stones, Yunyun was also there observing from a distance. And subsequent to the magical stone buried in the snowfield forest being blown out of the ground along with a hot spring, she also went to take a dip.

Following many adventures and battles alongside Kazuma, Yunyun joined him in defending Axel from the attack of the Imitation Dragon, where she in the final stages unleashed Light of Saber under Kazuma's instructions to hold the rampaging monster in place for the killing blows to be made. She consequently joined the other adventurers in celebrating their victory at the Guild.

Black Slab Arc

One day as Yunyun laid in wait for Megumin at Wiz's Shop like usual, she upon her rival's appearance issued a challenge to a contest of body development, only to be shocked by Megumin's unthinkable declaration of her flat-chested body being the better. Terrified with her rival's abnormality, Yunyun rushed to Kazuma's mansion where she told the rest of the party what happened, and was told soon after Megumin's return that the Black Slab had cursed Megumin into embracing instead of rejecting underdeveloped bodies. Since satisfying Megumin's heart by letting her fulfill her new mission of spreading lolism was an essential part of lifting the curse, during the intervals Megumin wasn't working for ingredients needed by the Black Slab to generate clothing, Yunyun decided to follow her around and provide assistance.

Yunyun some days later heard from Megumin how she wanted her participation in a budding Lolita Alliance, and while reporting this news to Kazuma, became upset at Megumin explaining her purpose as an example of why big breasts are bad. She nevertheless assisted Megumin with preparing for a speech that spreads the ideals of the Lolita Alliance, though faced with Megumin having stage fright on the day, Yunyun alongside Darkness went on stage to distract the audience despite getting booed. Subsequent to Megumin wearing Pure Doll gave the speech only to revert to normal midway, Yunyun later that night helped Darkness comfort the embarrassed Megumin back at the mansion, where they all had a dinner to celebrate.

After everything was eventually settled with Yunyun having tested out enough numbers of various clothes, she paid a visit to Megumin's mansion for a challenge, only to be refused by her rival who was pestering Kazuma for an Explosion, following which Aqua and Darkness advised her to be a little egoistic. Yunyun therefore followed Kazuma back to his mansion on the ensuing day for advice on how to become egoistic, and having heard Darkness fantasizing about servicing a debauched boyfriend while pregnant, she after Kazuma brought her into his room for discussion, exclaimed those same lines of Darkness in addition to some of those pestering ones uttered by Megumin on the previous day, then continued to practise more egoistic lines before leaving at sunset. Visiting the mansion again on the following morning without bringing presents, Yunyun was offered to be trained by Megumin, then in a contest between them for saying the most egoistic thing was declared the winner by Kazuma. Aqua the epitome of egoism however returned to witness the scene before running off again, so Yunyun accompanied Kazuma to town in search of her, only to find out that she had told everybody about Kazuma getting Yunyun pregnant yet still abused her while also two-timing with Megumin. After Kazuma was taken away for interrogation by Sena over the matter, Yunyun hearing from the townsfolk how he will be executed for impregnating the Crimson Demon chieftain's daughter, quickly ran to the mansion where she used the Black Slab for generating a wedding dress she immediately put on. Bursting into the police station during the interrogation, she pleaded for sparing Kazuma's life, followed by declarations of affection and praise towards him that the lie-detecting bell indicated to be false. Subsequent to the misunderstandings being cleared, they all returned to the mansion where Kazuma admonished Aqua for spreading rumours, during which Megumin described Yunyun already egoistic enough as she was. Several days later at Megumin's goading, Yunyun asked Kazuma out for a date, then cutely implored him for buying things that Kazuma realised were ones Megumin had wanted, and was later promised to have her egoistic wish of accompanying Megumin on her next Explosion exercise fulfilled.

Mid Spring Arc

Yunyun one day received a letter from Hiropon, with the first page informing her of his imminent death because the Crimson Demon Village was under attack by overwhelming forces of the Devil King's Army that was led by a Devil King's General, and the second page writing about Soketto foretelling the inevitable destruction of the village and all Crimson Demons except for Yunyun, who will marry an unremarkable and weak man she had met at the Town of Beginnings before bearing a child destined to defeat the Devil King. Driven into panic by the tidings, Yunyun who only found Kazuma fitting the description of the man charged into his mansion (or the Guild in the anime) to loudly ask for bearing his child. Later explaining her reasons and letting Megumin read the letter out loud, she then became ultra embarrassed when it turned out that the second page was the first chapter of Heroic Tales of the Crimson Demons penned by Arue and sent along in the same envelope of Hiropon's letter.

Immediately setting out on her journey back to the village both out of concern for the clan's well-being and escaping from the embarrassment, Yunyun first went to Wiz's Shop where Vanir and Wiz talked her into buying a bag of Slime Catcher-kuns, before boarding the carriage to Arcanletia, during which she single-handedly played a two-player card game while talking with herself. She upon arrival at the City of Water went to buy snacks, but got hit in the sore spot by a shop employee pointing out her loneliness. Next offered a free box of Arcan Manjus if she signs a conversion form of the Axis Order, Yunyun ran off in horror only to run into a man asking to sign a petition that turned out to be a conversion form, followed by many more conversion attempts that delayed her trip home.

Choosing to walk through the forest trail leading to her village, Yunyun while traversing the clearing where dangerous monsters roam spotted Kazuma about to be raped by Orcs as his party members helplessly looked on, so she quickly cast Bottomless Swamp to scare the lusty monsters away, though the overblown gratitude displayed by the traumatised Kazuma made her uncomfortable. Subsequent to them relocating to wooded areas, she bid Megumin's party members not to tell the villagers about Megumin learning Explosion Magic before criticising the gimmick magic's uselessness, only to be horrified when Megumin in retaliation tried to tell Kazuma where her birthmark is located. Next blaming Megumin for their quarrel attracting the attention of nearby Onis (or Goblins in the anime) from the Devil King's Army until subdued by Darkness, Yunyun upon their location being discovered cast Light of Saber at the minions of the Devil King, before Megumin shocked her by casting Explosion at close range. Then after Bukkororii and his vigilantes arrived on scene to annihilate all the Onis, she and her companions were Teleported by them back to the village.

Yunyun proceeded to correct Kazuma's awe at the vigilantes disappearing from sight by explaining how they simply made themselves invisible in order to leave coolly, only to be interrupted by a stone they threw. She afterwards took Kazuma's party to her home, where Hiropon admitted to have written the letter misleadingly exaggerated, much to her vexation. After the outsiders were shown how the villagers easily fought off another attack from the Devil King's Army led by Sylvia, Yunyun went looking for Arue to voice her complaints over the saga that had caused her much embarrassment. Then later that night, she surprisingly received a visit from Megumin asking to sleep over at her home.
(In the anime, Yunyun on the following day donned her school uniform and joined Megumin at Red Prison when she showed her party around their old school)

Alerted by Megumin and her party during a night raid by the Devil King's Army about Kazuma being kidnapped by Sylvia, Yunyun and Bukkororii's vigilantes rushed to the underground storehouse where weapons were stored. Despite finding him unharmed, she and the others had to flee alongside the villagers because Sylvia whom Kazuma had trapped inside the storage broke out merged with the Mage-Killer and began razing the village. After the villagers who rallied to Hiropon's call for a counterattack in order to stall for time used up all their magical powers on spells that only got negated by the clan's "nemesis", Yunyun took to the field and singly faced off against Sylvia atop a spar of rock so Megumin could go back home and find the missing Komekko. Verifying how she couldn't Teleport away like the others can, the chief's daughter cast Lighting for visual effect before making a Crimson Demon style introduction without her usual bashfulness. Then when Sylvia eventually sprung to attack, Yunyun ran off towards the hidden Bukkororii and Soketto so they could Teleport her to safety.
(In the anime, Yunyun showed up to bury the remnants of Sylvia's army under a landslide in order to save the pursued Funifura and Dodonko after the villagers had their magical abilities nullified, then distracted the Devil King's General until she was shot by the Railgun. Rejoining Megumin's party and Komekko, she next had to flee alongside the others when Sylvia returned to life merged with the dead Beldia and Hans. Subsequent to the arrival of Wiz and Vanir, Yunyun and Megumin had the other villagers' magical powers transferred to them through the Lich, with which they launched a powerful Explosion of Saber at Kazuma, who had allowed himself be absorbed by the Chimera and became her weak spot, to obliterate them both)

Three days after the battle from which the razed village was rebuilt from, she was asked by Kazuma to help his party break the jinx on the village that Pekonyan had for years repeatedly ranted to her and other Crimson Demons, though the irritated Megumin's gullibility to Kazuma's enticement made her exasperated. Heading deep into the forest where the boulder causing the jinx was located, Yunyun Froze Gust an attacking Greater Panda along with the Darkness grappling with it, before driving off a pack of Lesser Pandas, then later had to Lightning Strike a Knee-kick Runner that Kazuma had foolishly attacked. She eventually cut through a series of monster attacks and led the gang to the cursed boulder where its jinx got Broken, but was shocked by the revelation of Pekonyan being a Ghost who possessed a lecherous side, and alongside Megumin accordingly indulged in his final wish of fighting a powerful adversary, especially after he made taunts about her loneliness leading her astray. Initially encumbered when Pekonyan's Tornado began blowing up her skirt, Yunyun soon gave up and instead countered with her own Tornado, before cutting the Tornadoes open with Light of Saber so Megumin could deal the finishing blow (while in the live recital, her Light of Saber was deflected by Pekonyan, and afterwards she helped herself to the watermelons left behind by the old man).

Yunyun having decided to head back to Axel because the villagers began calling her nicknames based on how she introduced herself to Sylvia, ran into Megumin and Kazuma on the final day of her homecoming trip, the former of whom expressed irritation at her becoming the celebrity of the village. They were accordingly met by Funifura and Dodonko, who furthered Yunyun's embarrassment by praising her introduction, following which she was forced by Megumin to make arrangements for their Teleportation back to Axel.

Having lost to Megumin at another contest one day, Yunyun agreed to go buy her ice cream from a street stand, yet this little endeavour kept running into roadblocks because of her bashful overconsideration for others. Anyhow pushed into getting an ice cream of mysterious flavour for herself, she became astonished by Megumin eating an ice cream cone that Kazuma had taken a bite out in an act of a passive kiss. Further impressed by Kazuma's socialising skills, Yunyun sought him out while he was drinking into stupor with other adventurers at the Guild, and loudly asked for having his skills of socialising.

Yunyun proceeded to wait outside Kazuma's mansion early next morning hoping he will be free to teach her, then after being invited inside began squabbling with Megumin, before heading out to town alongside Kazuma. Told about a hostile trailing them during Kazuma's lecture on how to converse with others, Yunyun following his advice went to lay in ambush, though the target who got zapped by her Lightning turned out to be Megumin. Later explaining how she was simply asking Kazuma for training her socialising skills, in response to Megumin's proposal about making friends with monsters first, Yunyun recounted how she had already tried to befriend Goblins, Kobolds, and Ogres only to fail for various reasons. Next turning down Megumin's offer to help her with finding friends because of her rival's own lack of friends, Yunyun who got attacked as a result proclaimed joining the cult of Kazuma once he boasted of helping her find a hundred friends to participate in activities with all year round.

Accordingly brought to a busy square where she denied having been hit on previously, the loner expressed disgust at Kazuma's demonstration of creating chances of interaction by Stealing the bra from a passing female adventurer, and was left unimpressed by Megumin's method of bumping into a passerby to strike a conversation. She was afterwards pointed by Kazuma to three harmless looking men so she could try socialising with them, only to get rejected by the trio busy with observing little children playing at a park, before they chided her for being a mature old woman pretending to be young.

Later led by Megumin to the city gate where she proposed having Yunyun socialise with rookie adventurers after rescuing them from Giant Toads, the loner promising not to run off post-rescue like she usually did, went ahead to slay the one chasing a pair of fleeing rookies, but was instead rebuked for stealing their kill. Surprised when Megumin seemingly backed down from demanding those ungrateful rookies pay compensation, she became horrified by her accordingly casting Explosion nearby to attract a horde of Giant Toads from their subterranean slumber. Following a desperate battle alongside nearby adventurers and a grilling from the Guild, Yunyun who became as slimy as the limp Megumin she carried trailed Kazuma back to his party's mansion, where she was invited by Aqua and Darkness to bathe as well as stay for dinner and a pajama party.

Cursed Relic Arc

When following Kazuma's party as well as Chris and Mitsurugi on a request by Lundberg to investigate an ancient relic discovered at the research facility beneath his mansion, Yunyun got caught in its defence response in the form of Level Drain, which reduced them all to Level 1 rookies with no Skills. She managed to escape being buried alive as a result of Megumin's Explosion, and after Kazuma got charged with treason by Sena which forced him to help repair the damaged relic, Yunyun tagged along to the meeting with Lundberg for discussing the terms of pardon. After listening to Rav explain how he needed some replacement parts only found in dungeons in order to repair the relic, Yunyun who wasn't asked to go scouting ahead decided to remain alongside Kazuma's party, though later she had to give up all her money and advanced equipment to pay for the damages on Lundberg's estate.

Taking the old road to the ruins where even monsters roaming there now proved a challenge, the party reached the neighbourhood ruins, at the entrance to which they recalled how their adventures with the magical stones began when Aqua picked up a shard of them there. As Megumin next refused Kazuma's request for her to stay outside, Yunyun advised him of how her rival would not heed him in this state.

Upon the party entering the underground sewers running beneath the ruins, Yunyun cautioning the others to watch their footing instead tripped over herself to end up sticking her butt up, allowing the delighted Kazuma a nice view up her skirt. Shocked upon the party reaching a junction blocked by masses of Giant Toads because Megumin was gobbled by one of the amphibians, she also accompanied the party's retreat back to Axel. Soon returning to the underground sewers to position the Frogicide purchased from Vanir, Yunyun had to help fight the Giant Toads trying to obstruct them, as well as the weakened Giant King Toad at the storeroom where the pipe for repairing the relic was stored. She also joined the party's celebration at the Guild afterwards, where she may try to cheer Megumin up from her dejection at being unable to use Explosion Magic, before hearing from Rav on the next day about their next objective in a dungeon located at Arcanletia.

Yunyun soon participated in the tiring walk to the city of water along the highway leading there, then following the party's reunion with Chris who had been scouting out the city beforehand, she was also surprised when Chris showed the party an Axis follower calling on the "power of Aqua" to split the waters of the lake in half and reveal an underwater temple. Then on the day following the successful retrieval of the Magical Stone of Water, Yunyun was hanging around the Guild when Kazuma came asking her to tag along for a meeting at Lundberg's mansion with Rav, something she excitedly agreed on. Accordingly hearing the researcher deduce the next replacement part looking like a metallic slate potentially located in the ruins dotting the Crimson Demon Village, she who became thrilled by the prospect of avoiding loneliness at the Guild headed out to look for the part's clues.

Spending the emergency money Hiropon had given her for the carriage and Teleportation fees, Yunyun effortlessly made it back to the Crimson Demon Village, though nobody she had talked to knew anything about the metallic slate, and out of the villagers only Arue showed interest in the topic of the relic. Afterwards greeting Kazuma's party when they footslogged to the village entrance, she was grilled by Megumin for taking the easy way back only to come up with nothing. As Arue, Funifura, and Dodonko accordingly showed up, Yunyun might help explain to them how she and the party got Level Drained, before asking around once more though without luck.

With the metallic slate turning out to be in the possession of Komekko, who demanded to see Megumin cast cool Explosions before she would hand the replacement part over, Yunyun might become part of the support team for generating simulated Explosions, and might even help Megumin relearn Explosion. Then upon preparing to leave once the party obtained the metallic slate, was told by Dodonko and Funifura that the latter was joining them on their journey.

When a giant Wallavy marched onto Axel, Yunyun also participated in its defence, and upon Megumin discovering that Wallavy could be melted by intense heat, became one of the mages who blasted fire magic at it.

At some point during the period, Yunyun asked Kazuma to accompany her as she carried out a plan to make a hundred friends with monsters. Taking Kazuma to the neighbourhood ruins, she introduced herself to some Giant Toads only to be gobbled up before she finished her introduction, and after being saved by Kazuma ruled out the monsters that would swallow her during greetings. Still undaunted, Yunyun took Kazuma into the territory of Wererats in the forest because their large numbers can land her many friends, yet subsequent to the monsters fighting over the bento she gifted them, the loner had to flee with Kazuma because the Wererats began pursuing them all the way back to the city until Luna announced an emergency quest to eliminate the monsters. Yunyun anyhow next thought of making friends with the Arachnes dwelling in the Magic-Sealer Cave that she brought Kazuma along to because these monsters can be conversed with, and was invited to stay for the night in a "pajama party". But some hours afterwards, Yunyun was woken by the frantic screams of a Kazuma tightly bound by the thread of the Arachnes, who planned to eat him up while petitioning as friends for Yunyun to lure more young tasty men into their lair. The Crimson Demon though decided that those who would hurt her friend cannot become her friends, and accordingly fought off the Arachnes before dragging Kazuma to safety. Although Yunyun ended up not making new friends, she was still thankful over not losing any, and took Kazuma's advice against befriending monsters.

Following many adventures and battles alongside Kazuma, Yunyun joined him in defending Axel from the attack of a supergiant Wallavy, in which she started off by cooperating with Arue and Funifura alongside other mages to slow the oversized Slime's advance down through magic while Kazuma and the others fought it. Then after the whole team rejoined, Yunyun proceeded to battle the mutated Wallavy and hold it in place, before helping to sweep away Wallavy's multiple smaller clones so that Kazuma and Aqua could go destroy its core. Several days later, when all the adventurers who had fought in the battle were drinking at the Guild in celebration, Yunyun enjoyed the delicious warabi mochi Aqua had cut out from Wallavy.

Late Spring Arc

At some point during the period, Yunyun after accompanying Megumin with her Explosion routine, returned to the party's mansion where she saw Kazuma rolling around in the yard as he spoke and frolicked with Chomusuke. Next questioned over whether they knew of the cat's true identity, she paid a deaf ear to Kazuma's calls about Chomusuke breathing out lightning and fire to respectively zap a cricket and chase away a stray cat, instead busying herself with going to practise cool phrases alongside Megumin.

While loitering one day around a stretch of city streets and pretending to coincidentally run into acquaintances who show up, upon Kazuma appearing she surprisingly had her intent pointed out before being offered to visit his mansion, which delighted her as she ran off to hunt Giant Toads.

Early Summer Arc

Hearing Megumin and Aqua report to the Guild about their party's failure to vanquish the Kowloon Hydra dwelling in a nearby lake, just when the kingdom's knights were unable to come help because they were too busy hunting down the Silver-Haired Thief Brigade, Yunyun joined in with other adventurers to chide them for agitating the overpowered monster at a time they couldn't afford more trouble.

When Kazuma a week later offered to pay adventurers at the Guild who would help Darkness defeat the Kowloon Hydra, Yunyun also signed up for the endeavour alongside a whole crowd of fellow adventurers. Under the instructions of Kazuma who didn't notice her, she and other magic-using adventurers prepared to launch their most powerful spell at the monster on his signal once it had its heads Binded together and heaved ashore, then upon Dust being gobbled up by the Hydra, unleashed Light of Saber to cut off the head that devoured him so that his body could tumble out. As the Hydra became so drained it couldn't regenerate the lost head, Yunyun cut off another head with Light of Saber, and on the return trip after the adventurers' triumph, insisted that it was all thanks to her efforts that Megumin had the chance to finish off the remaining six heads (while in the anime she and the other magic-using adventurers transferred their magical power to Megumin for boosting her Explosion that vanquished the Kowloon Hydra).

Yunyun on the day of Darkness' marriage to Alderp was persuaded by Megumin under the pretext of friendship into helping her disrupt the wedding so she can rescue the Crusader, and so during the ceremony cut down the front wall of the church it was held at using her Light of Saber, which also took out many of Alderp's guards (or a particularly large one in the anime). Worriedly convincing herself that she didn't commit a crime as Megumin prepared her Explosion, she pointed out how Kazuma and Aqua were already inside the church and in the process of snatching the bride-to-be away. After being joined by the grateful Darkness and taking cover from the Explosion that Megumin unleashed above the city, Yunyun who expressed disappointment at Kazuma's hiding behind the Darkness he was supposed to rescue got duped by Megumin into acting as the rearguard against Alderp's encroaching guards. Although Yunyun was outnumbered and faced being overwhelmed before she can cast spells, the sudden intervention by Keith which cumulated in Dust leading the adventurers surrounding the church into beating up the guards ended up saving her (while in the anime, Yunyun joined Megumin's party in escaping to the Dustiness manor, and stayed in the yard while they entered to see Ignis, before Megumin came outside to accompany her).

Finding at the Guild one day a recruitment notice from Dust, the loner too shy to apply forthright could only peek from afar at the front of the general store where he and Rin eventually set up their desk, until the two of them finally acknowledged her presence. She thus bashfully pretended to chance upon them recruiting temporary party members to fill in for the unwell Keith and Taylor, then following some unproductive bantering with Dust, became overjoyed when Rin invited her to join in their upcoming bodyguard quest against Goblins. She thus spent the next day studying useful books as well as prepare ample supplies, though on the morning of the quest some of them were eaten up by Dust during their rendezvous at the Guild, where she was introduced to Lolisa who joined in as their fourth member.

During the carriage ride with the villager who posted the quest back to his village, Yunyun enthusiastically vanquished all attacking monsters by herself, and basked in the praise of the others especially Dust. She then let the three of them take out some attacking Goblins, and later on secretly discussed with the other girls about how Dust's sexual desires unexpectedly fluctuate as well as the possibility of him being bisexual.

Subsequent to completing the quest upon arrival at the village, the party accepted its chief's additional request to eradicate the rest of the Goblins, only to find them having already fled from their nest because there was a Green Dragon next to it. Scared stiff by the apex monster's presence, Yunyun unsuccessfully tried to act brave, then became further shocked when Dust who still owed her money waved the girls off as he suicidally volunteered to cover their escape. Anyhow fleeing for a short distance, she and the other girls began discussing if they should go back and help the delinquent who only acted disreputably, before he surprisingly returned with the treasure gifted to him by the Dragon for helping it pull out a sword embedded into its leg. Next denying Dust's similarity to the famous Dragon Knight Lain Sheyka, Yunyun pondered boasting to Megumin how she missed her chance at becoming a "Dragon Slayer".

Hanging around in Wiz's Shop days later where her presence was ignored until Vanir told Dust to watch his mouth when the delinquent anticipated bathing with girls in hot springs, Yunyun tried shooting down his hopes by citing that the women who go mixed bathing are the elderly, only to be retaliated with accusations of her lacking common sense. Although Yunyun then repeatedly declared refusal to go mixed bathing with the delinquent, she still was unable to hide her glee at Dust offering a ticket for joining in his party's trip to Arcanletia, which she hurriedly ran off to prepare for, all the while keeping the nature of the city a secret. Accordingly running into Megumin near the Guild, Yunyun proceeded to boast about a man inviting her on a trip, but was instead met with speculations of her being duped, before Yunyun's reluctance to name Dust as the man who invited her made Megumin think that she was lying about the whole affair.

On the day of the trip, Yunyun carrying abundant supplies gave gifts to all other members at the carriage terminal, then after a lot draw for deciding seating, she and the other girls rode in one carriage with Vanir while the men rode on the other. Following an uneventful day of traveling, during which Yunyun effortlessly vanquished many attacking monsters, she and the other girls huddled around the campfire after the caravan set up camp along the highway. Her happy time chatting with girls before sleeping, however, was marred by the interruption of Dust's sexual harassment, so momentarily shutting her eyes upon a sudden gust of wind, Yunyun and the others chided the delinquent away.

Upon reaching Arcanletia on the ensuing day, Yunyun excitedly went to find Dust, only to be piqued by the sight of Rin cozying up to him. She then tried to stop Vanir from agitating the Axis followers making up most of the population through insults on the Goddess of Water, before having to confess about Arcanletia being the headquarters of the Axis Order. As the group started getting beset by attempts from the locals to hardsell and convert, the claims of being able to make friends once she joins the Axis Order began tempting Yunyun, until Dust dragged the vulnerable loner out of the throng much to her excitement.

Unable to suppress her feelings for the delinquent, subsequent to settling down at the inn, Yunyun despite acting nonchalant to mixed bathing nevertheless followed Dust who had gone bathing in the mixed baths, and bashfully asked to bathe with him. Yet just as she began expressing her feelings to Dust, Rin and Lolisa came barging in to impede her, so Yunyun determined to keep Dust for herself decided to fight it out with the other girls. She was suddenly splashed by cold water from Dust, which not only calmed her down but also made the delinquent who ordered the girls to lewdly serve him appear infuriatingly disgusting. Responding by pelting Dust with spells, Yunyun who clearly remembered what had transpired earlier on ran off embarrassed.

Late that night, Yunyun went to Dust's room to ask about how she felt enamoured to him in the hot springs, though he simply told her to forget about the whole affair. She and the other companions on the following day were once again barraged by more conversion attempts that compared to her previous visit were not only much more overblown, but looked familiar to the Arch Wizard. Initially expressing reluctance at Chris' plea for them to hit back at the city of lunatics, Yunyun became puzzled at Dust volunteering his party to help upon hearing the Thief bring up the subject of some lewd books circulated in Axel possibly becoming the subject of investigation by the Eris Order.

Bashfully accompanying the delinquent as they went looking for props to enact his plan, Yunyun hoping to boast about having gone on a date the next time she sees Megumin, tried doing activities for dating, such as going to watch a romance play, drinking at a coffee shop, and shopping for dolls, only for Dust to ignorantly ruin the mood, causing her to dejectedly give up and leave. Later as Dust dressed Chris up for her to perform great deeds in the guise of Eris, the Crimson Demon who was well acquainted with the Axis Order worried about the dire consequences should the hostile Axis followers discover them impersonating a goddess rival to their deity, which pushed Dust into scrapping the idea.

Suddenly hearing the Axis followers outside clamouring about a Demon at the fountain plaza, Yunyun followed them and Chris who was still in her costume to the location, where she found Vanir alongside Lolisa on a stage. Subsequent to the Archdemon disparaging the patron goddess of the Axis Order by listing Aqua's indolent and rascal antics, which the lunatics instead appreciated as part of their teachings, Yunyun found Dust's lifestyle very similar to the Axis followers. Next hearing Vanir declare selling the Axis followers photobooks of Aqua at half price, she at Dust's sudden coercion was compelled into helping sell the product, though they turned out to be photobooks of Vanir instead. Soon pursued alongside her travelling companions by the extremely furious Axis followers, Yunyun successfully lost them thanks to Dust splitting off and leading the mob to him. She later on ran into him on the way back to the inn, and became overjoyed when the surprisingly perceptive delinquent gifted her a doll the loner had wanted earlier on for boasting at Megumin with.

The exhausted group afterwards took the carriage back to Axel, and despite the others keeping their share of the photobooks' sales, Yunyun alone refused the money after scolding Vanir over him causing the ordeal. Once they arrived at the gates of Axel, however, she became surprised by the guards as well as the townsfolk acting sluggish from lack of motivation to work. Concerned about Megumin, Yunyun ran to her party's mansion, only to find them all having left the city. Proceeding to loiter at the entrance until Dust's party came by, she suggested for them to go ask Vanir regarding the phenomenon.

In Wiz's Shop where they found Wiz crispily zapped for falling to a con scheme, Yunyun heard Dust reiterate how the same affliction had occurred on Keith and Taylor after their party explored a hidden section in the research facility beneath some ancient ruins, then was advised by Vanir to head back into the ruins for finding what was draining motivation from people before Axel's residents starve to death. Without anyone else in the city capable of helping, she teamed up with Dust's party and Lolisa on the journey there.

Yunyun though felt her motivation severely drained by the time their uneventful carriage ride to the ruins ended, and eventually had to be carried through the corridors inside by Dust. Later falling asleep in the abode of the dungeon's master, she groggily chided the scummy delinquent for forcing three men into surrendering through holding Lolisa as hostage at swordpoint. Unable to shake herself awake for escaping the facility as it accordingly began threatening to cave in, Yunyun was shocked when the three men squabbled for the right to carry Rin and Lolisa but not her, who in the end was carried outside by Dust before being dumped onto the ground.

Although her motivation soon returned to normal, the Arch Wizard barely had time to feel refreshed from the long nap, before she was faced with the Prototype Destroyer bursting out from the ruins. Subsequent to Dust valiantly motivating them to destroy to scaled-down version of the Mobile Fortress Destroyer before it destroys Axel, Yunyun became determined to take it down so she could go boasting to Megumin. Standing back preparing her spells as the others hindered the construct's movements, she successfully chopped off two of the Prototype Destroyer's legs with Light of Saber, giving Dust the opening to stab the weak spot at its unlit eye. After the explosive destruction of the construct, Yunyun and the other girls approached Dust as he lay on the ground from the shockwave, and upon him asking them to come closer in a blatant attempt to peek under her skirt, Yunyun responded by stomping on his face. Returning to the remotivated Axel afterwards, the loner subsequent to receiving a generous share of rewards from the Guild, went boasting to Megumin about her having destroyed the Destroyer in addition to being invited on a date by a man, before their attempts at drinking wine during the ensuing party was thwarted by Kazuma and Darkness.

Sometime around that period, Yunyun timidly stacked dominoes at the Guild as Dust looked on, though Vanir abruptly toppled them before she could do so. Too bashful to admit being lonely as her demonic friend walked off, the loner tried approaching Megumin and Kazuma only to be waved off by the busy pair. Dejectedly heading to Wiz's Shop where Vanir was absent, she chatted with Wiz for a while before leaving with some shopping. Next wandering some more shops alone until dusk, Yunyun was overjoyed when Dust and Vanir approached, and proceeded to treat them for dinner despite being teased later on.

Mid Summer Arc

Spending time alone at the Guild following another day's challenge to Megumin, the loner heard a solitary Dust utter about wanting to go adventuring with someone, so despite Megumin piping in, she went volunteering herself to join in. The delinquent however seized the chance to pressure her into treating him for a meal, a request which she denied, before Megumin's interruption and subsequent racket forced Yunyun into holding her back.

A couple of days later, Yunyun was asked by Dust to accompany him on a journey, which to her surprise involved escorting Lolisa and her hooded kin back to their village near the riverhead lake. Elated because Lolisa lauded her as the senior adventurer, she enthusiastically defeated the monsters encountered all by herself, but became irritated upon discovering Dust to have rummaged through the luggage she had brought along and ate up her snacks. As the team approached the forest near the lake, the Crimson Demon was astonished by the others describing the enemy they were facing being an evil female plant in the forest that seduces people to sap away their life force.

Although Yunyun became filled with righteous fury upon a dozen adventurers who had been brainwashed by the plant monster obstructing the team's path into the forest, she couldn't bring herself to attack people. Yunyun therefore charged ahead with Dust on her heels while Lolisa and her kin dealt with the adventurers who were their lovers and spouses, only to discover the monster's identity being a Tranquility Girl. The loner proceeded to speak in the humanoid plant's defence, even though Dust cited the monster attempting to drive the adventurers into death, before she was knocked out by the scum's sneak attack. Coming to her senses afterwards only to be shocked by the delinquent already having slain the humanoid plant, Yunyun was lectured on how the monster had nourished itself on the bodies of those it had deceived. Next puzzled by a wine bottle emptied onto the surrounding ground, the Crimson Demon anyhow followed Dust back to Axel.

Delighted when invited by Megumin to tour the Eris Appreciation Festival on its third day despite denying it at the rendezvous with her and Kazuma, she watched the lucky Adventurer make a killing at the shooting and lucky draw stalls. Later passing by a stall opened by Vanir for selling replicas of his mask, the loner was eventually enticed into helping him look after the stall. And following the conclusion of the festival, Yunyun also participated in the closing party held by the festival committee.

At some point during the period, while staying overnight at the party's mansion, Yunyun complained about her losing against Megumin because she got to decide the competitions' context, and at Kazuma's query over who was the stronger went to hold a competition in a children's park on the following day. Losing the contest for making a Crimson Demon style introduction because Megumin attacked her before she could complete her turn, Yunyun next proposed playing the boardgame that she had been solitarily practising with everyday, something the loner handily defeated Megumin on. But just as the Crimson Demons were pestering Kazuma the adjudicator for deciding another suitable contest, they were approached by policemen who suspected them of teaching strange play to the surrounding children. Yunyun was then surprised by Kazuma declaring the next contest involving staying the longest in the park, and didn't react quickly enough when Megumin threw the contest to bolt after the fleeing adjudicator, forcing the victorious loner to face the policemen's questioning.

Because of Megumin's party recently failing too many quests, at the behest of Luna, Yunyun wearing a school swimsuit became one of the lecturers for their retraining at the seaside, though after comparing her swimsuit to the children one worn by Megumin, she got hot sand kicked at her. Despite having her qualifications at lecturing about controlling magic challenged by Megumin, she observed Mitsurugi's lecture about combat skills, then along with the other spectators commented about the Sword Master being a sore loser when he refused to accept losing a blow to Kazuma, until Mitsurugi relented and let the Adventurer pass the lecture.

The jittery Yunyun proceeded to begin her lecture, but was again challenged by Megumin who disagreed with her over what magic is. Yunyun anyhow taught the party how to replenish magical power by sucking air, but burst into tears because the girls stated the method being useless for them. She anyhow began the next topic about controlling magic with an emphasis on Explosion Magic, which could blow away Axel if Megumin loses control over it. Accordingly producing some magical stones for storing magical powers to use in emergencies, Yunyun after being teased by Aqua and Megumin turned pleased to see Darkness making one of the stones change colour. She however quickly became horrified at another one of them getting overloaded by the Arch Priest's overwhelming magical power, and although that magical stone was quickly thrown by Kazuma into the sea where it exploded, the fish that were killed prompted Megumin to also try explosive fishing which ended up catching Aqua in the blast. Yunyun thus tried to bring the lecture back on track by suggesting them fish with magic, yet after casting a Fireball she had to stop Megumin from casting an Explosion into the sea. Accordingly faced with Kazuma and Darkness engaging in lewd fishing banter while Aqua nearly destroyed the ecosystem through Purification fishing, Yunyun at the end wept over the lecture getting bungled.

She subsequently prepared to support the party when Wiz asked them to fight sea monsters, but had to restrain Megumin from casting Explosion on the huge Kraken attracted by the shopkeeper's vial because of its size, then became unable to attack upon Darkness getting captured by the monster and groped by its tentacles. Initially moved by bonding displayed when the Crusader told Kazuma shoot arrows without care of her, him later actually hitting Darkness horrified Yunyun. Following Darkness' rescue, Yunyun declared determination to fight alongside the others, before being interrupted by Megumin's uncontrolled Explosion. Miraculously surviving the catastrophe that eradicated the monsters and left her laying immobile, Yunyun assured the apologetic Wiz that this was all Megumin's fault, then snapped at the limp instigator to find a way out of her own fix herself, though the loner soon looked on in horror as Megumin got swept out to sea while nobody was able to help.

Setting up a memory card game at the Guild beside Vanir's consultation booth, Yunyun found herself deftly beaten by the All-Seeing Demon, before being shocked by him proclaiming interest in a woman. Further stunned to see her inhuman friend later pausing his consultation booth to sit around the Guild's dining hall, the loner anyhow accepted the juice he treated her to, then beat Dust up after the delinquent drank it up.

Finally noticing that Vanir was interested in Luna, Yunyun thrilled at this forbidden romance promised to assist her friend, before following him back to Wiz's Shop. After reporting to Wiz about Vanir's failure in finding ways to pursue the receptionist, the Crimson Demon was surprised by the entry of two Succubi trying to dissuade Vanir from aiming for Luna. Proceeding to attack the pair of low-level Demons only to be stopped by Vanir who signed a photobook featuring his "nude" mask, Yunyun discussed with Wiz what the unmasked Vanir may look like.

She on the following day went to the Guild where Vanir was filling in for Luna, who to the Crimson Demon's joy had been drinking with the Archdemon throughout the night before getting carried home. Becoming further excited when Luna showed up to hear him profess his interest in her, Yunyun was subsequently stunned by Archdemon blurting out how he was interested in Luna's exquisite negative emotions emitted out of jealousy towards her married colleagues as well as frustruation at problematic adventurers, and joined the rest of the audience in reprimanding him.

As a criminal organisation called the Yatagarasu began harassing businesses throughout Axel in order to pressure them into contracting for their "security services", the loner was convinced by Dust to help him combat those thugs. She therefore lay in ambush nearby whenever the delinquent approached businesses under the protection of the Yatagarasu, only to be shocked to see him smashing the merchandise and letting the proprietors demand compensation from the organisation, before being called out to deal with the thugs in the case they tried to attack Dust. Dismayed by the questionable actions she was participating in as well as the Yatagarasu members mistaking her to be the crazy Megumin, Yunyun during one such round heard the passing Vanir explain that the whole affair was a con scheme set up by Dust and the fraudster "proprietors" for the purpose of scamming the Yatagarasu.

Late Summer Arc

Noticing one day Megumin at the Guild unsuccessfully recruiting for members to join her, Yunyun who had learned Teleport sometime during that period had to furiously volunteer herself upon her rival ignoring her gaze, then became exasperated at the revelation about Megumin planning to start her own bandit band established for supporting the Silver-Haired Thief Brigade. Still lured by the prospects of making new friends by being the band's vice leader, she anyhow followed Megumin to the streets for recruiting more members.

After vetoing Megumin's attempts to recruit people who didn't look friendly enough, Yunyun suggested asking a hooded girl bearing a sword and was around their age, though to her surprise she was somebody who Megumin recognised. Later taken by Megumin to a park where she was introduced to Illis the granddaughter of a crepe merchant, the enthusiasm expressed by Illis upon hearing their goal of establishing a bandit band in support of the Silver-Haired Thief Brigade prompted Yunyun to have her join in, though getting named by Megumin as her right hand girl unsettled the loner.

Astonished by Illis displaying awesome martial prowess through bisecting monsters ranging from Giant Toads to One-Punch Bears with a swipe of Something-calibur, Yunyun wanted to let the girl apparently stronger than them join, and was accordingly further amazed when Illis blasted away a tribe of Goblins as well as the nearby Beginner's Bane with a Sacred Lightning Blare. Feeling puzzled because Megumin still refused to acknowledge the qualification of Illis who probably also received high-level education, the Crimson Demon who actually possessed common sense made remarks when her crazy kin suggested testing Illis on that subject only to be attacked. Yunyun later pointed out that the advice taught to Illis by Megumin on how to eat fruits was flawed, the after Illis was granted membership as a lackey because of her pleading, challenged her rival over who gets to be the leader, only to back down once Megumin cited her adult relationship with Kazuma.

She accordingly followed Megumin to a real estate broker for her unrealistic goal of renting the best property in the city to serve as their base, and to Yunyun's fury her leader offered to make her praise the man daily in an attempt to convince him into entertaining their request. Next realising in alarm that Illis hailed from a family disburbingly high-up because she not only paid the millions of eris in rent up front but scared the broker into approving the lease by displaying her family pendant, Yunyun began harbouring second thoughts on letting the lackey into their game, though having the luxurious leased mansion to serve as their hangout spot soon soothed her nerves, before Megumin's speech about supporting the righteous noble thieves convinced her to pledge full assistance. She was then told of the plan to recruit more ferocious members to strengthen the band, though the people with matching traits who the loner knew of weren't suitable for them.

Yunyun however became horrified that night when Megumin brought them to enact their first raid on some noble's mansion, especially upon learning the explosion maniac's intent to fabricate evidence and use Illis' family to win in court. After the operation was fortunately stopped because Claire showed up to collect Illis, Yunyun was requested by Megumin to join her trip for the royal capital through Teleportation services. She was afterwards ordered to log the city as one of her own Teleportation points, then to her shock subsequently witnessed Megumin performing her daily routine outside the capital, from where Yunyun hurriedly evacuated her back to Axel from, before quarrelling with the limp Megumin over her planning to cause the same panic hitting the royal capital every day.

Teleporting herself and Megumin to the royal capital on the following day, Yunyun went looking around for Illis after the explosive maniac cast an Explosion outside the city and incited panic within its walls. Furiously taking the lackey to where Megumin limply lay, she scolded her rival who planned to pin the explosion on the Devil King similar to how Arnes was framed. Next hesitating when hearing of Illis bringing food for a picnic, Yunyun whose yelling was said to have attracted pursuers had to Teleport them all back to Axel. During the ensuing picnic beside the riverhead lake, the gorgeous food prepared by Illis' family maids once again alerted Yunyun about the lackey's origins, though at Megumin's dissuasion she quit prying too deep.

Disappointed when Megumin finally remembered that their goal wasn't to go have a picnic, Yunyun warned Illis about Megumin trying to covet the lackey's home for her crazy game, then followed the bandit leader to the local church of the Axis Order for a job request that Cecily had filed with the Guild. Agreeing with Megumin's instruction to Illis which permitted her to attack with impunity if necessary, when they later discussed Cecily's request about somebody stealing food from the church's vegetable patch and refrigerator, Yunyun pointed out the possibility of it being an act of revenge, though Cecily sparking too many grudges made investigating that trail impractical.

Next shocked by the Priest presenting Megumin with some banned powder that she had made improvements upon, the loner angrily drew her rod on Cecily for attempting to corrupt them, until she explained that those were simply a modified breed of Gelatinous Slime. Accordingly apologising after a scolding from the Priest, the bandit band followed the Priest to Axis Order's stall for selling the Gelatinous Slime under a rebranded name, though having to hand to powder to customers while Cecily promoted the substance through suggestive vocabulary deeply disturbed Yunyun despite the money they earned.

Returning to the church only to discover the food thief having struck again, Yunyun uncovered a pair of male underwear in the freezer presumably left there by the perverted culprit, but threw it away in disgust once Cecily explained how a male follower had asked to have his underwear cooled for wearing after bathing. Anyhow following along as the Priest went to interrogate possible suspects, the loner upon witnessing Cecily harass a butcher whom she held a grudge against had a mind to ditch her, then covered Illis' eyes when the Axis Priest started stomping on the door of the local Eris church, which the two of them accordingly had to stop Cecily from graffiting on.

The gang afterwards returned to the Axis church, where they witnessed the Gelatinous Slime collection by Cecily having dragged itself out of the refrigerator and into the vegetable patch to feed on the harvest. Accordingly scolding the unrepentant Cecily for falsely accusing people when her snack was actually the culprit, Yunyun was stopped by the clueless Illis whose ears she frantically blocked from the Axis teachings recited by the Priest, before Claire burst in to collect the lackey. Unsettled when contemplating again the identity of Illis, the addition of Cecily into the bandit band further disconcerted Yunyun.

The chief's daughter later wrote about the bandit band in a letter to Hiropon, and in return was told about many in the village also hoping to join their cool endeavour, though at Megumin's instructions during the band's ensuing assembly, she told him that the villagers were needed for defence of the royal capital in case of emergencies. Next finding Megumin's inability to process how the band was developing bigger than planned amusing, Yunyun ascertained her rival's dedication to the explosive path upon Cecily claiming how she had romance troubles.

After the topic went back to them recruiting new members, she vied for a kind person who will dine with her outside of the band's activity time. The band was next told by Illis about the romantic story of the former Dragon Knight Lain Sheyka's downfall and how he was rumoured to currently be an adventurer in Axel, so Yunyun followed her leader to the Guild in search of him, though on the way Megumin's bragging of her intimate relationship with Kazuma vexed the loner. She afterwards became disappointed to hear from Luna that no adventurer in Axel matched all the descriptions of the former Dragon Knight, while the people who matched part of the descriptions turned out to be an old retired adventurer, a spearthrowing athlete, and Dust, the last of whom pestered her for drinking money.

As Megumin and Illis recruited Chris, Yunyun now instructed by them to accompany the drunken delinquent outside was forced into listening to his lectures about acting cocky in both figurative and literal sense. Following a fight with Dust because he compared his attempt to make himself "cockier" to women's efforts at getting bustier, she stomped off in fury.

At Megumin's instructions Yunyun once again headed into the royal capital to collect Illis for their next assembly, only to be met by a maid telling of her mistress unable to come because she had to attend a ceremony. Filled to the brim with curiosity about Illis' identity, the loner at the assembly meticulously stacked up an elaborate house of cards. Yet when quipping at Megumin for feigning calmness so Chris wouldn't see her jitteriness at the band's rapid growth, Yunyun had her house of cards threatened by the piqued bandit leader, who along with Chris ignored her inquiries about who Illis actually was.

Later instructed to collect Illis at a set time instead of an Explosion signal, once returning to Axel Yunyun took the young girl window shopping, though her enjoyment was cut short by the bandit leader catching them. Next asked by Megumin about what she wants, the loner after discarding volumes of potential things to do with friends claimed wanting to challenge her rival. Her attempts to win through womanhood, however, were thwarted by Megumin proclaiming having Kazuma as a boyfriend. Further enraged by taunts about her having attracted no man except for Dust, Yunyun attempted to fight Megumin, but had to quit upon her rival bringing up the embarrassing incident of how she had asked to bear Kazuma's child.

Back at their mansion base, Megumin's reminder to the band during an ensuing assembly made Yunyun recall that the band was established for supporting the Silver Haired-Thief Brigade instead letting her make friends. She anyhow suggested settling with happily playing around everyday, only for Megumin to as an act of disagreement eat up all her snacks provided by Illis' housemaids. Unnerved by the band leader's choice of words at the band assembly on the following day when she declared "bringing the fight" to the nobles, Yunyun became further distressed because after Megumin's decision to raid a forest manor owned by House Donnelly in suspicion of them using a Divine Item for randomly summoning monsters before releasing into the wild, she heard Illis proclaim determination at getting to the bottom of the matter on behalf of the royal family.

Accompanying the band to check out the manor only to be surprised at seeing a horde of monsters laying siege to it, her intent of jumping to the rescue despite the order to lay in wait gnawed at Yunyun until Megumin finally proclaimed their intervention, so she helped deal with the straggler monsters in the aftermath of the ensuing Explosion. Accordingly shocked by the ungrateful response of Karen to their rescue, Yunyun eventually backed down when Chris told them to leave the matter for the Silver-Haired Thief Brigade to deal with.

At some point during the period, at a bandit band assembly with Megumin and Illis, Yunyun helped explain how the reports about potential dangers to society that the lackey had brought up were actually all trivial nuisances caused by them and their acquaintances, such as her longingly peeking into lively bars every night only to be mistaken for a lonely ghost.

Unexpectedly approached at the Guild one day by Claire and Rain who wanted her help with experiencing an adventure, the loner being unsure of them requested having a familiar face come along too, but because Megumin and Kazuma both begged to be left out of it, she asked the pair of noblewomen to go ask for Dust's help, and kept gazing at them as they went petitioning for his and Rin's accompaniment. Later admitting to have pointed the nobles to them, Yunyun for the sake of Illis persuaded successfully to have Dust accept the request.

She proceeded to bring along a whole load of supplies including unsold inventory gifted by Wiz a few days later, and being the first to arrive at the rendezvous spot, became surprised to see Dust arriving just after her, then expressed relief at Rin also joining them to assist in dealing with him. Accordingly warning him about acting uncourteously towards the nobility when he casually greeted the two arriving noblewomen, Yunyun on the team's way to fight Giant Toads explained how Megumin's Explosions such as the one that ensued had been keeping the amphibians from hibernation, and found the panicked responses from the newcomers amusing. Next worriedly watching Claire charge an approaching knot of Giant Toads, the Arch Wizard was prevented by Dust from interfering when both the knight and Rain ended up being gobbled so that he could watch them erotically squirm in clothes turned translucent by the slime, a request the Crimson Demon furiously ignored through cutting down the amphibians with Light of Saber. Yet unable to stand the stench of the rescued noblewomen, Yunyun suggested taking them to bathe.

Upon reaching the lake, the Crimson Demon with Rin's help overpowered and tied the untrustworthy delinquent behind a rock facing another direction which prevented him from looking at the noblewomen bathing. Vehemently refusing his pleas for release even when Dust cited their friendship as well as having shared a bath, she subsequent to inadvertently smacking him down became horrified to find him squirming after her bawling about his imminent loss of control in the bladder and bowels. Next Yunyun left Dust behind to rush for the shore because the near-naked Claire and Rain were being attacked by Goblins, but his ensuing encouragement for the monsters in hopes of them making the noblewomen removing the hands covering their breasts enraged her, so once the Goblins were scared into fleeing towards the delinquent, the Crimson Demon unleashed a Lightning Strike that annihilated all the monsters without care of Dust's well-being.

Still showing distain towards the delinquent after he woke up, but unable to ditch him because he was the quest accepter needed for collecting the rewards, Yunyun agreed with them taking the noblewomen who wanted to experience more adventuring onto a dungeon exploration trip at the nearby abandoned castle. The marks of Megumin's Explosions on the structure however marred the embarrassed Crimson Demon's enthusiasm at castle exploring, but finding the place having been cleaned up previously, she with the help of the other girls set up afternoon tea in a meeting chamber. While later engaging in conversation with Rain, the loner noticed to her vexation Dust digging from her luggage a Friendship Crystal which he placed onto the table atop a nearby cleaning rag. Awkwardly explaining the magic item's function after it displayed all the embarrassing moments of Claire and Rain, Yunyun herself felt shamed upon the crystal also showing Beldia's woeful days at the castle in face of Megumin's daily Explosions.

Subsequent to Rin discovering a hidden staircase leading downwards much to her excitement, the loner uneasily followed inside with the others who hoped to discover treasure and intelligence on the Devil King's Army, only to be left disappointedly speechless upon finding in the secret chamber at the end an awaiting Vanir. Anyhow told by the Archdemon that carrying around the dietary snacks he was marketing can attract female friends because the product will soon become a hit amongst women, she threw aside her initial worry about their addictiveness after tasting some, and ended up buying a bunch of them.

Yunyun was summoned alongside Megumin on the following day to a meeting at a coffee shop by Claire and Rain, who confronted them about their involvement the gigantic explosions around the royal capital that allowed for Illis' escapades. Although her perturbed curiosity about Illis' true identity was once more stirred because the retainers asked the Crimson Demons to cheer up their charge currently troubled by affairs involving the war against the Devil King's Army, Yunyun quickly backed down upon hearing how her head may become forfeit for knowing. She later revealed the young girl's interests in adventure stories and the romantic tale about the Dragon Knight banished for kidnapping his kingdom's princess, with the meaningfulness of the latter something that Yunyun accordingly bickered with Megumin over.

The Crimson Demons went meeting at the Guild again on the next day, and although Yunyun yearned to learn who Illis really was when discussing ways to help the young girl sneak out of her tightly guarded home, she soon fearfully expressed refusal to listen despite Megumin wanting to force the knowledge into her head. Accordingly horrified by Megumin heading off in order to blow up the gates of Illis' home while impersonating her, Yunyun followed her rival to the royal capital, and could only watch on in panic at Megumin chanting towards the royal castle. Anyhow criticising Dust when he suddenly appeared to snatch away Megumin's magic rod, the loner got her temples grinded by the delinquent, who suggested for them to use a smarter method. Hearing his plan of him sneaking alone into the royal castle for cheering up the princess while the girls caused a distraction to thin out the security detail, that night Yunyun having borrowed Dust a big bag, evacuated Megumin following an Explosion being cast outside the royal capital, and took her hiding among the local branch of the Axis Order until the coast was clear enough to sneak back.

Discovering Chomusuke bullied by children in a park one morning, Yunyun brought her back to Megumin's mansion, where she drank the hot water served by Aqua. Next shown by Megumin an article about the Devil King's General Wolbach attacking a fort that defended the royal capital, she exclaimed in shock over the Dark God who used to be sealed in their village. Proceeding to ignore Megumin's attempts at shutting her up, Yunyun divulged to Kazuma regarding her rival secretly taking in the deity as a familiar. She later learnt during the ensuing interrogation of Megumin about her relationship with the Dark God, then angrily tussled with her rival once it was revealed that the deity was first released by Megumin herself, before expressing puzzlement at Chomusuke and the Devil King's General both being known as the "Dark God".

A couple of days afterwards, Yunyun was overjoyed to accompany Megumin's party on the trip to the fort, and so packed into her luggage all sorts of games for everyone to play at the inn on the way in addition to a lot of snacks. She accordingly Teleported all of them including Chomusuke to the royal capital, where Kazuma's negotiating skills that easily persuaded the city guards into providing them with maps and monster guides for the path towards the fort impressed her. As the gang immediately set off, Yunyun with Chomusuke around her feet elatedly led from the front while expressing an endless tirade about the trip. She turned even more thrilled from seeing Bandits for the first time when the humanoid monsters stepped out to rob the gang, but then had to chase after Darkness because the perverted Crusader upon the Bandits being scared off instead pursued them for hours.

Feeling thrilled at the opportunity to set up camp in the wild with other people that night, Yunyun during dinner was advised by Megumin to calm down, but was later on woken up from her sleep when Kazuma warned of a Zombie Dragon approaching. She subsequently looked after Darkness who was pummelled unconscious by the monster until Aqua Healed her, then when moving out because the battle attracted more monsters, held onto Kazuma's hand as he led the Crimson Demons through the pitch darkness. Yunyun on the way expressed her desire of joining a party, but was accordingly jabbed by Megumin over her inability to make friends.

Finally making it to the inn which sported a hot spring, Yunyun expressed disdain at Kazuma upon hearing about him attempting to peek at Megumin and Darkness bathing in Arcanletia, before taking a bath with the other girls prior to sleeping. She heard as they continued the trip on the next day Kazuma bragging about bathing last night with a busty beauty whom he had previously met in Arcanletia, and worried about that woman who talked of meeting the Bandits from yesterday. This however got Yunyun taunted by Megumin over her lewd thoughts, so the loner in retaliation cited her rival's intimate relationship with Kazuma. Eventually reaching the fort by sunset, she became embarassed by the guards harbouring incredulity at her Crimson Demon name, then followed suit with the guards who knelt down once hearing Kazuma reveal Darkness' identity as the heiress of the noble House Dustiness.

Subsequent to settling in a guest room, during a gang meeting Yunyun was dismayed upon hearing that Wolbach had been using Explosions to attack to fort walls daily. She proceeded to pester Megumin for seeing Wolbach instead of her as a rival worthy of a duel to the death, and also refused when requested to learn Explosion Magic. Yunyun anyhow followed Kazuma to counterattack after the Dark God's Explosion for the day, only to hear from Mitsurugi at the ruined section of the wall that Wolbach had already Teleported away to the safety of the monster army's territory, prompting her to help repair the damage with magic.

On the next day Yunyun joined the others hiding in some woods outside the fort for ambushing Wolbach, but was soon given custody of the accompanying Chomusuke who became especially restless. When the Dark God discovered and began approaching the gang, Yunyun accompanied Kazuma to go stall the Devil King's General so Megumin could finish her Explosion chant, only to discover her as the woman whom she had shared a carriage with. After fleeing from the flood that Aqua had summoned, the troubled Yunyun shut herself up inside her room, but was rendered speechless in the ensuing days at the way the Arch Priest's miraculous reinforcing of the walls restored the disheartened defenders' morale.

When an incensed Wolbach marched up to the fort gates, Yunyun appeared on the fort walls with the others, then considered Kazuma's attempts to use Chomusuke for blackmailing the teary Dark God as scummy. As Wolbach later turned to leave, the loner upon inquiry was told that the Dark God still remembered the time they shared together on the carriage ride. The elated Yunyun afterwards participated in Kazuma's plan of breaking the stalemate, which involved sneaking close to the monster army's camp alongside him and Megumin, before she Teleports everyone to safety once an Explosion is cast at it, though days of witnessing the monsters being driven into despair made her find their own actions disturbing.

One day prepared to return because the few remaining monsters fled before an Explosion can be cast, Yunyun found themselves confronted by Wolbach, then became shocked to hear how the Devil King's General had bathed with Kazuma twice. Accordingly stupefied by the Dark God suddenly chanting for Explosion on them, thanks to Kazuma's shrewdly igniting a stick of dynamite on Wolbach, Yunyun was barely able to Teleport the trio back to the safety of the fort.

Upon getting word of the wounded Dark God approaching the fort, she as one of the clan created to fight the Devil King's Army made up her mind to vanquish the Devil King's General despite their previous interaction brightening up her lonely life, though she was left behind when Kazuma took Megumin on their final confrontation with Wolbach which saw the Dark God vanquished. Later during their stay at the inn on the gang's way back from the fort, the loner following the girls bathing went around looking for the absent Megumin, but eventually decided to leave her alone to nurse her feelings that were also hurt from Wolbach's demise. Yunyun on the next morning was asked by Kazuma to Teleport the gang back to Axel, where Aqua planned to hold a celebratory party that the Crimson Demon too was invited to.

Somewhere around that period, Yunyun who was later joined by Kazuma tracked a Megumin uncharacteristically walking all over town in a dress, and thought she was turning herself in for some crime when witnessing her entering the police station, only to find out that she was asked to model for a poster.
